Very good, as usual.
Clean and tidy but a bit quirky because of the history! Staff are great. Love the place, thanks.
Exceeded my expectations.
My second stay at The King's Arms Hotel, i love this hotel. The staff are friendly and attentive, the food was excellent. The room clean, airy and large, same goes for the bathroom.Nice intimate bar but the real bonus is the sheltered garden.I will be recommending this hotel to anyone wanting a quiet few days away rather than a big city break. I will certainly be visiting again in 2024.
Very good
The lady at reception could not have been more helpful. Room was big and spacious lovely en suite. Pity no cocktails at the bar apparently no bar staff
Lovely hotel
Had a pleasant stay staff were all lovely the rooms were spotless and bed was very comfortable. Had a beautiful meal in their restaurant which was outstanding and great value for money. I would definitely return
Overnight stay
Very friendly and comfortable hotel.Food was lovely.
Saturday 2210
Positives: Hotel clean, staff professional and friendly. On site Italian restaurant menu lots of choices well cooked and presented.Negatives: radiators switched off, room cold on arrival. Asked for room that helped with mobility issues no walk in shower.
Staff were exceptionally kind and looked after me so well
Friendly welcoming and so lovely . The food was lovely and staff could not be more accommodating. Loved it !I would come as a lone visitor as really well looked after. Thank you .

Room very nicely furnished, loved the sash windows.Nice wooden polished floor.Batheroom huge! Staff were really helpful, nothing too much trouble.Coffee lounge a nice surprise, breakfast , lots of choice.Hotel well positioned for town.
Excellent comfortable stay
Nice hotel, very well located. Single room was spacious clean and comfortable
Good
We had a family room (only one left) and it was excellent. Very clean with all facilities
Great Spot
Last minute booking and didn't know what to expect. Pulled into the centre of Berwick and saw a lovely historic hotel. Big front steps so we used the rear entrance for access. Friendly staff - and a nice room with an excellent bathroom/shower. Small TV was the only negative during a great overnight stop.
Lovely hotel
I received a warm welcome straight away as soon as I got to reception. The room was very comfortable and I had a good night's sleep and a nice shower in the morning. Food wise there is a lovely Italian restaurant attached to the hotel which was fantastic, breakfast was also great. Can't say enough nice things about this hotel, will definitely return.
Good
Staff were excellent
Very nice indeed
Lovely hotel.room was very spacious meals were brilliant and well priced only drawback was breakfast if they did rolls & sausage or eggs as an alternative it would have been perfect £10 for breakfast is ok when you have a great choice which they do cereal continental, but all one price who wants a full breakfast every morning when you stay for a full week you just get fed up with it so come on egg roll or sausage £5 would have been great but plenty of small cafes around so not to bad other than that staff were brilliant very helpful and chatty thanks for a lovely week
Very nice.
Comfortable and quiet.
Cricket, relaxation and more!
The room was clean and spacious. The onsite restaurant, Amore, had decent vegan options. The kettle started leaking, but it was replaced promptly.Great location for the local shops, the river and also outlets. Holy Island is nearby and worth seeing. Perfect weekend away!
good
good stay
Good
Room was clean ,and comfortable, only thing was we couldn’t get the windows open (room 21).There was a fan but it was a bit noisy ,which couldn’t sleep with on,. On Saturday afternoon we came back to room . Only or hear a lot of commotion, right outside our room guys on ladders fixing the Wi-Fi, banging about up in the ceiling.Breakfast was ok but fruit didn’t seem to be very fresh, bruised fruit in bowl and poor selection .
The room clean and tidy , reception is friendly .
The information of the travelling to Holy Island need to be updated, especially the bus services timetable.
Enjoyed my stay
Room very comfortable, staff helpful , good breakfast too. Located close to the harbour . All in all a very enjoyable stay.
A Great Stay
What a great stay at The Kings Arms!Situated right in the heart of Berwick it is perfectly located for all amenities - pubs & bars, restaurants, shops and walks. The Kings Arms was really welcoming and clean - all the staff we met were happy, friendly and professional …. nothing was too much trouble and it was always service with a smile from the lovely Receptionist who welcomed us to the wonderful house keeping staff and the night porter who served some drinks later on in the evening. Highly recommended!
Excellent
Gillian was a star when i arrived and a big thank you to the lady cleaner who made the room available for 10.30 as i been to a festival and was in need of a shower!!!!The staff in both both the restaurant and bar were greatA funky place with lots of characterWhen in Berwick choose the Kings Arms
Lovely hotel
Lovely hotel clean and comfy rooms, brilliant breakfast, only trouble was the floor boards in the room above were very squeaky you heard every footstep and other things I’d rather not hear 🤦🏼♀️I’d definitely go back but would request a different room
Great hotel right in centre of town
Had a really nice few days in Berwick.Hotel perfectly placed.
The Kings Arms, Hide Hill
I had stayed at The Kings Head previously and on this occasion, my experience was much better. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The accommodation is comfortable, if a little tired. All in all , well worth the cost.
stunning hotel
we had a long day with 2 under 1 year old traveling back from Edinburgh zoo we had to stop and rest we called and the lady on reception was so helpful even helped us with our baggage the room was spacious and clean
Excellent
Good large renovated room.Very comfortable bed Quiet. Very good breakfast. Only negative is parking was on the street, rather than in private car park. No problems though.
Lovely Hotel
Very comfortable and homely. Staff were great and helpful. Breakfast is amazing, so much choice and delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.
Freindly, well placed, competitively priced independant hotel
I stayed for 3 nights and would have extended for two more as I was enjoying Berwick. Unfortunatly The Kings Arms was full for the next few days. My room was comfy and clean. big positives was great water pressure and (am gettting on a bit) strong gran handles around bath for climbing in for a shower (if you are over 60 you will know this a plus). I did not eat there (the bar & restaurant decorated a bit modern trendy for my taste. Just misses a 5 star as I think some of the modern decor was a but cold and a few signs of aging in my room. However, excellent value in this location and I would stay there again.
Excellent
An excellent hotel. The rooms were spacious and well appointed. The staff were friendly and considerate at all times. Breakfast was delicious whether continental or full English. We like the restaurant so much we dined there every night. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. I warmly recommend the King's Head Hotel.
Overnight stay
On arrival thought was ok .room number 9 very disappointed in this place needs all new furnishings and cleanliness was shocking .paint on bathroom door was so dirty .would not return again .breakfast wasn’t great either .girl not very pleasant.serving us.carpets were shocking .for 149 pound .you expect clean and nice .would never return .
Comfy & friendly
I greatly enjoyed my stay - the room was very comfy and staff were super-friendly and welcoming. A lovely place to stay if touring Northumberland!
Excellent
The Kings Arms is a very comfortable hotel with excellent facilities.A spacious ground floor with plenty of different areas to relax in including a lovely garden at the back. The staff are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble to help you.Food and drinks are also excellent. Many thanks for a great stay.
Amazin
Hotel was amazing, room was spotless, food and staff were so helpful, second year here and could not fault it xxxx
Brilliant
We had a lovely time staying in this hotel, everything was lovely. Everything was clean and tidy, service was brilliant, reception staff were absolutely lovely. Can't fault anything. Thanks for a lovely stay
Perfect for our stay
Very comfy bed, lovely breakfast, very clean, friendly staff
Excellent
Really happy stay thank you.Great location in town, very interesting historical building, parking right outside on street, clean and welcoming hotel. Great breakfast and particularly good reception staff. Went out of their way to be helpful. Would certainly recommend staying again.
Lovely hotel ,
Very welcoming , staff can’t do enough for you , spotlessly clean , food superb , room quiet & cosy , will return soon ,
Excellent
Room was lovely, breakfast great, staff very helpful, seagulls kept us up all night but can’t blame the hotel for that, all in all I would highly recommend
Excellent Stay
We could not recommend the Kings Arms highly enough This staff are friendly and very helpful The rooms are spacious clean and very comfortable The location is right in the centre of the town with easy access to all of the main sites We would not hesitate to come back and stay
Short stay
My wife and I stayed for 3 night's at Kings Arms. Lovely big bedroom with comfy bed. Huge shower which was great. Breakfast had a really excellent choice of hot and cold foods.Only negative was the doormats at side entrance and at bottom of stair needed cleaning when we arrived and was never hoovered once. This wasn't best impression.
Comfortable short stay
A Good clean Hotel with your basic facility needs for a short stay. Well run and friendly staff.A Hotel with some History to it and individual character that added to the charm of staying at what was once a Coaching inn .A nice Italian style restaurant was attached to the Hotel that served good quality meals at a reasonable price.
Good location
The hotel is centrally located within easy reach of all amenities and nice walks by the river. There was parking outside the hotel although you need to get a parking disc from reception. The bar and restaurant looked lovely although we were going out so didn’t actually use them. We did think that the room was very small and the bed wasn’t very comfortable which is why we’ve knocked a star off. However, the bathroom was fantastic.
An excellent place to stay
Although a short stay, every aspect was super. Restaurant food and service; room; breakfast and service; friendliness and professional manner of the lovely lady at the Reception desk. Really terrific x
😁👌excellent,as,usual😇
😁would,recommend the,hotel,to,anyone.travelling to Berwick and the,borders!🤔!
Absolutely brilliant
Our visit was a special moment for both of us and you made magic happen for us both we thank you and all the staff and chef for wonderful food and Google for excellent cocktails till we meet again soon x
Second night of Coast & Castles cycle trip
Nice hotel in the centre of Berwick upon Tweed. Comfortable and spacious rooms with powerful showers, good choice for breakfast and secure bike storage. Thanks to the lovely lady behind the desk who was very helpful when we checked. She had only started the previous week (sorry, I forgot your name!).
GOOD HOTEL
good place to stay , nice hotel , rooms good(paintings on wall bit creepy) , bar and lounge very good , dinner in restaurant was not soo good , long time to get served and food was reheated , lady on reception was very good and friendly .
A very good choice!
The King’s Arms has a great location in town. I could walk to everything I wanted to see and the Tourist center has walking tours. The reception people at the King’s Arms were very helpful. Breakfast has many options as does evening dining. Servers were friendly. I have one food allergy and they checked carefully any dishes I ordered. In the back is a lovely garden for relaxing, but you can't see it from the room. There is a lift and the room was modern in contrast to the historic exterior.
Lovely hotel
Really enjoyed our stay at such a historic hotel. Denise was extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for her. Get the impression the hotel is under staffed though as she was having to do everything covering reception and the cocktail bar etc but it's the staff who make it such a lovely place to stay.
Comfortable
Booked 1 night very comfortable and clean room.
Excellent
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Room was good, food delicious and staff extremely friendly and helpful.
Nice
Old lovely Building in a beautiful Town. The Rooms are Clean, you have all you need .The People are helpful and nice.We enjoyed Our Stay.
Really nice stay
My wife and I Really enjoyed our stay here made to feel very welcome, Hotel perfectly placed to make the most of the area and would definitely come back.
Warm Welcome.
Stayed at The Kings Arms several times over the years and always receive a warm welcome from the receptionists and also the bar staff in the lovely wee cocktail bar.. Our room was very comfortable, especially the bed, so we had a great sleep. Plenty teas, coffees, etc and always great biscuits! Thank You to the girls who clean the rooms, they’re always spotless. Altogether a very relaxing stay. Thank You AllX
A lovely place to stay
Spent a cosy night in the historic Kings Arms Hotel and had a great breakfast in pleasant surroundings. Bedroom, hotel bar and walled beer garden are very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and looked after us well. The hotel is a ten minute walk from the mainline station and located 3 minutes from the river Tweed and coastal walks. Also close to National Cycle Route 1 with secure cycle parking. I would stay again when next visiting Berwick Upon Tweed.
Excellent
Room was very clean great comfortable bedFriendly staff easy check in/out
Pleasant well located hotel - would consider again.
Pleasant well located hotel - would consider again.

Had a good stay
Enjoyed our stay. Had good food and our room was clean and comfortable. Big room and bathroom.
Excellent
Excellent hotel pleasant staff great food and love the beer garden, definitely be back
Splendid
We stayed at the Kings Arms for 4 nights and we were very impressed with the hotel. We received a warm welcome on arrival at reception and the room was more than adequate for our needs. The hotel is situated in a great location and has a great beer garden which is great to chill out in on the sunny days. We would definitely recommend the Kings Arms and will be back again one day.
Good location.
Great location and very friendly helpful staff.Good food plenty of selection for breakfast.Old building needs a bit of TLC.Room 3 it was not possible to use hairdryer anywhere near a mirror. The room directly above had very noisy floorboards. We were moved to a better room the following day.Reception staff were very helpful.
Staff were exceptionally kind and looked after me so well
This was my first holiday on my own and the staff were exceptionally kind and made me so welcome. The hotel was lovely and l cannot praise the staff enough as they couldn't have done anymore for me, friendly and efficient, sorted out taxis and nothing was too muchThank you 😊
Very Good
We enjoyed our stay at the Kings Arms, clean comfortable room/bed. Lovely bars, restaurant and comfy seating areas. Polite friendly staff especially receptionist who was most helpful with our requests, thank you! Would def stay again
Walking beak
Nice, clean and welcoming hotel. Staff very friendly and hospitable. Great location.
Hot
Very helpful receptionist. Fan in room only blew out hot air, luckily brought our own. Fan in bathroom not working also television remote needs to be replaced.Nice room and bathroom but bath not really suitable for elderly as had a tiled ledge to get into after saying that shower super and lovely to have instructions on working it 😊
Lovely Hotel
Highly recommend staying here. Rooms were fab. Bed so comfy. Gillian on reception was so friendly and lovely, nothing was too much bother. Great beer garden with table service and staff were great. Excellent hotel and stay.
Could do more for disabled
My wife is. Disabled and we stayed in room two on ground floor.nice room shower could have done with handrail in shower, which my wife couldn't use.the garden also couldn't be accessed.having said that all the staff were excellent, and nothing a problem to any of them, and the meals and hotel were excellent.
Enjoyed our stay
We only stopped overnight, but had a big comfortable room and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Hotel is in a good central location so we walked down the river and round the town walls in the evening. Parked right outside the hotel so that was not a problem.
Quite
Very pleasant staff 👌and home fully feel comfortable would come back
Clean, comfortable and welcoming
Refreshingly old-style hotel, but with all modern conveniences. Modern "Lodge" type facilities are fine up to a point, but lack character. Kings Arms has evolved with the times and deserves to thrive.
Great town centre base
The King's Arms Hotel was a great place to stay for our brief trip into Berwick upon Tweed. We were greeted by friendly staff and we were able to check in a little on the early side. The room was clean and tidy, quite roomy and well appointed with a great selection of drinks and biscuits available. After travelling it was great to take a deep breath and relax with a cup of tea! The en-suite was great - a wonderful shower, lots of space. A tiny quibble, there was no socket for charging an electric toothbrush. The hotel is located right in the middle of the hub of the town, close to restaurants, cafes and shops, as well as being only steps away from some of the town's great visitor attractions and the fantastic beaches and views.Thank you to all the staff who worked hard in the background, and up front in the bar, to make our stay comfortable and stress free.
Solo Traveller
Spent 3 nights in early June,at The King's Arms, Berwick. It was a last minute booking, via Booking.com. Had a nice double bedroom, the only complaint I'd make, would be getting in and out of the shower, as the sides were a bit high. I had a great cooked English breakfast every morning, with plenty of alternatives available. The hotel had a nice bar, and I also had a good snack in The Charles Dickens Lounge. The hotel was in a central location, handy for restaurants, pubs, and walking around the walls. Also within walking distance of the river and going over into Tweedmouth and Spittal. There are plenty of local buses for within Berwick and beyond.Overall, I would recommend the hotel, staff and facilities were also good. I would stay again for future visits to Berwick.
Very good
Friendly, comfortable, efficient, good food, decor in keeping with its heritage
Fantastic Restaurant
We stayed for one night. The hotel is undergoing some renovation in places, the bathroom was lovely and very cleanI would recommend every one to use the restaurant. The two young lads were very attentive and the chef was very helpful . The food was cooked perfectly, I would definitely recommend a meal in this restaurant.
Lovely accommodation
Lovely old hotel with bags of character. Comfortable rooms with lots of little extras. Very clean and tidy throughout although there was a lot of improvements being made in and around the hotel. Good breakfast menu with lots of choice from full English to waffles and pancakes (which were gorgeous) Staff were very helpful and extremely friendly. Would definitely stay again.
Vert good
We were made extremely welcome and our room was very comfortable. Despite staff shortages which seems to be the order of today in the current climate every request was fulfilled and the staff went to any lengths to make sure that our stay was enjoyable, we will definitely be back five stars
Lovely short break.
Enjoyed our stay at the Kings Arms Hotel. The room was very spacious and the decor was lovely. The bed was very, very comfortable.. so much so, wanted to stay in it all day!The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. Loved the history of the hotel and enjoyed the character of the place.
Great stay
Fantastic hotel in a great location for the town centre and the beach. Mark on reception was so polite and friendly nothing was a problem for him, great customer service 👍
.Great stay
Very helpful staff, happy to come again.
Exceeded my expectations.
From the moment i arrived i felt at home. Very friendly, attentive and helpful staff who were working very hard to get all the new additions to the property open which they did. The food was great, bar service excellent, the garden is a sun trap and very relaxing anytime of day. The room was fine, clean and functional with a powerful shower. The high street is a few minutes walk as is the river Tweed and the various fortifications.Recommended unreservedly.
thoroughly recommended
The reception staff were so kind, attentive and professional. They went above and beyond the call of duty. The food was excellent and room very comfortable. look forward to a return visit.
Very central and recently updated.
Very clean and central. It was nice to see some money having been spent on the Kings Arms to update it.
Enjoyable stay
Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for refurbishment, but plenty of places to eat nearby.Breakfast was good,Room was spacious and clean.Staff very helpful.Free car park 1 minute down the street.
A good place to stay
We enjoyed our stay at the Kings Arms. The staff were very friendly andhelpful and the room was comfortable.Any queries were answered. The breakfast was good, with a choice of cereals, pastries and juices as well as a cooked breakfast list.
Mini break at The Kings Arms
Had a wonderful time at The Kings Arms with my husband. The staff were amazing particularly Mark and Owen in the cocktail bar!The cocktails were delicious. The breakfasts were huge and really set us up for the day.A great base for exploring the beautiful Northumberland coastline. Will definitely visit again.Thank you.
Brilliant
Enjoyed our stay, staff very pleasant and couldn't do enough for you, also breakfast was good. Will definitely be back again
Great first visit to Berwick on Tweed!
The Kings Arms Hotel was stylish. We had a very comfortable room and large, newly refurbishedbathroom. The staff were welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed sitting in the sun in the hotel’s large garden (though could have done without the loud music). For breakfast, the Eggs Benedict was delicious and the Full English breakfast was just right too. The breakfast room has some interesting full wall paintings of the hotel as an old coaching inn and the other of the three bridges over the Tweed. A delightful surprise was that even though the hotel doesn’t have its own parking, the nearby car park down the hill on the quay offers 24hour parking completely free! That’s the way to welcome visitors!
Very comfortable stay
Spent 2 nights on my own but felt very comfortable at the kings arms. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful with local information and helping with onward bus travel!
Fabulous
After a terrible stay in a different hotel,we stayed here in the off chance a room would be available. Lady on reception could not have been more helpful. Room spacious and immaculate. Breakfast excellent and all staff very helpful & friendly. Would highly recommend.
Very Good
Gillian very helpful. Friendly. Great at giving advice on buses etc. knew the area very well.
VERY GOOD
I am going to stay again . Very clean room. Good bathroom with strong shower.Heating on in the evening in early MAY on cold night. Good breakfast.
Weekend Escape
Lovely hotel with plenty of character but also a great standard of comfort and convenience. All staff were helpful and friendly and took care to make us feel welcome. Will be a fab location in the summer as the walled garden is stunning!
Lovely place to stay
My wife and I stayed on Saturday on 29th May for 1 night. Jillian, on reception, was great and made us feel welcome and appreciated. Although our room didn't have much of a view (which we weren't that bothered about) it was immaculate and had everything required for a comfortable stay. The bed was one of the best I've slept in and I would recommend the Kings Arms to anyone. We will definitely be coming back!
Comfortable welcoming stay
Hotel staff were friendly, helpful and room extremely comfortable clean .Would recommend.
Excellent with very friendly and helpful staff
Had a wonderful one night stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it to others needing a hotel in Berwick upon Tweed. The room was very comfortable and a lovely bathroom. The staff were so friendly and helpful including helping my husband who has difficulty walking and finding a charger for my iphone as I had left mine at home.Would definitely return for another stay.
Lovely welcome to Berwick
Very nice hotel, lovely room and extremely helpful and friendly staff. Bed was really comfortable and lovely breakfast too. Felt very safe and welcome here and would definitely stay again. 😊
Comfortable stay
The hotel is in a Central location within the town and is close to all amenities. The hotel is clean and comfortable with friendly informative staff. The breakfast consisted of a wide variety of continental choices as well as a lovely cooked breakfast. We spent a few hours in the evening in the small bar area which was comfortable and the bar attendant was very accommodating by playing some of our taste in music as a background sound during the time we were there . There are plenty of restaurants and bars near by in near by Bridge street having lovely bisto bars, restaurants, and little shops. .
Good stop over
Very friendly staff well located easy to find and very good if you are working in the area. I slept well, quiet. Bed comfy, very accommodating.
Excellent
Excellent service and support. I had a problem connecting to the internet and Josh, Mark & Gillian were excellent in trying to help me and we got there in the end. I am on assignment with Simpson's Malt and will certainly be staying again. I ate in the restaurant last night and the sausage and mash was perfect. One small suggestion, I do not think that Madonna's Greatest Hits is the appropriate background music for the ambiance that you want to create. Thanks once again, Iain
Very good
Have stayed here a few times before and always have a lovely time. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Nice cocktail bar to end your day in. The breakfast is lovely with lots of choices. The restaurant is in the process of opening up. A very nice hotel.
Fantastic Experience From Start to Finish
My wife and I stayed at The Kings Arms on 15th of April. This was part of the celebrations for my wife’s 60th birthday and we also chose The Kings Arms to hold a party for 20 of our relatives in the Dickens Suite. From our very first enquiry about hiring a venue for our party all the staff were extremely helpful and answered any queries we had very promptly. In particular, Gillian in reception was so helpful and friendly every time we spoke to her.The Dickens Suite itself was perfect for our party and the in house catering team deserve praise for the excellent buffet which was served. Many guests commented that it was the best scotch eggs they had ever tasted!Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff and I would not hesitate in recommending The Kings Arms to host any function. Our stay in the hotel that night was very pleasant and comfortable with an en-suite bath and shower. The full English breakfast in the morning was served quickly and was also exemplary. So overall, a great venue to hold a function, a wonderful place to stay and a warm welcome from the lovely staff.
One of my favourite places to stay
I’ve stayed here many times over the years and it’s one of the stand out hotels in the country for me. The rooms are generally large and well presented with every room having a different character and decor. The bathrooms are all beautiful and always spotless. The beds are large and very comfortable. I’ve not had a meal here other than breakfast but that has always been great. Put all of this in a beautiful location like Berwick and sprinkle in years of history and it’s very hard to beat. To top it all the staff are always helpful and pleasant. I will be back!
Excellent
Lovely clean hotel. Nice big room with a very comfy bed. The hotel staff was friendly and chatty and had a lovely hot breakfast. Will definitely be back.
Excellent
We stayed at the hotel for a couple of nights out of season. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was good and all of the equipment worked as expected. Would definitely stay again.
excellent 2 day fishing break
very friendly accommodating staff, clean room, very nice breakfast, will definitely stay there again
Kings Arms Hotel

Holiday in Berwick
Nicht Holiday in Berwick. The personal was friendly, the room was clean and the breakfest was perfekt. I would come again.
Recommend
2nd time we have stayed here, both times trips at New Year. Liked it first time so did it again the next year.Berwick is a lovely place and I suspect we will be back. The Kings Arms has a great location , the hotel is excellent and much better than any travel lodge chain. Staff take a bit more time to say hello and make sure you are comfortable, excellent room and food.
New Year break
Loved the room, great staff and very tasty breakfast.
Fantastic Stay
Such a lovely warm welcome, we arrived without a room booked, we're shown all available options and given such a great introduction to the town and surrounding area. Our rrom was spotlessly clean with a comfortable bed and amazing shower. Breakfast was excellent and the staff all so friendly. Would highly recommend 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Thank you!
Excellant
lovely hotel. very comfortable. food was excellent. room spacious very clean. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, while being professional. Nothing was too much trouble for them.Highly Recommemded.
Room was very nice

Nice hotel
Enjoyed our over night stay. Myself and 2 daughters we had the family room. Nice big room.
Great hotel
Lovely room with a warm welcome, breakfast was good, staff friendly a great stay, will come again.
Very good.
All as expected. Hotel is nice, staff are attentive. Room was fine, although a wee bit cool overnight. Breakfast was excellent. No real problems, 4/5 rating.
Lovely stay - no car park though.
Room 10 was perfect, warm, clean, dark, quiet and comfortable, powerful shower. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. Staff all very pleasant but I got the impression that they were short-staffed. We had a wait at check in as the receptionist was also having to serve a large party in the bar. Check in process was pleasant and simple. Be aware that there is no hotel car park and only paid/metered parking out on the street. Would stay again.
As good as the first time i stayed
Second stay at friendly, comfortable hotel
Great hotel
Spent 1 night great friendly staff rooms good
Break
Clean and comfortable room staff pleasant and very helpful good breafast
Clean and Comfortable
We received a warm welcome on arrival. Room was very comfortable and really nice bathroom. Perfect for an overnight rest after a long day. Stayed for work but would be a perfect choice for a break with the good lady.

Lovely hotel to stay at
Highly recommend this hotel lovely place to stay staff are very friendly and helpful will definitely be staying here next time I'm in Berwick
Friendliest hotel ever.
The ladies who run the Kings Arms are kindness itself. When were you ever asked "And did you sleep well" at breakfast? My companion and I had maximum comfort.Lovely big room, 21stcentury en suite bathroom, advice on where to go and how to get there
Excellent hotel, very warm friendly welcome and great staff!
An excellent find in the heart of Berwick. The room was great and the staff even better! Highly recommended!
Excellent
Friendly staff , comfortable rooms. Lovely breakfasts.
Very Good Comfortable Stay!
Check in was easy with very pleasant girl on reception who gave all the information required and presented a discount voucher for use in the restaurant. Room was very spacious, comfortable and a nice temperature. Bathroom very clean and well appointed. Food in the evening was in their Italian restaurant which was cooed to order and excellent quality. Breakfast was included in the room rate with a wide choice of buffet, tea, coffee and toast. In the cooked to prefer menu there is a wide choice to suit everyone. First time we have stayed at the Kings Arms, but when in Berwick in future the hotel will be our first choice.
Great base to stay in Berwick
This was our second stay at the Kings Armsthis time we decided to stay for two nights and took advantage of the 5% discount that was offered. We really enjoyed our time here, lovely comfy bed, much better equipped than last time with a good hospitality tray and nice toiletries. Brilliant shower and the room was quiet and very clean. The last time we stayed, there was no guest information pack but there was one which had ample information and a lovely history about the hotel.Breakfasts were very good, beautifully done poached eggs on toast with good quality bacon. A generous portion that keot us going until much later in the day. Staff are lovely, thank you especially to Gill who was so helpful during our stay and a hive of information. The hotel doesn't have its' own parking but there is 24 hour a short walk away at the Quayside and at Foul Ford, just around the corner. We can highly recommend the Kings Arms, also nice to know it is privately owned too. If you are looking for a break away in Berwick, that is centrally located, good breakfasts and comfort with friendly, attentive service where you are looked after, then look no further than the Kings Arms. Independently-run hospitality businesses are struggling, not only because of the current economic clinate but also from competition of larger chain-run establishments in the town who can financially afford to hugely drop their prices putting independents at a very unfair disadvantage. Come, stay and support them. We would not hesitate to cone back. Thank you again.
Excellent
Lovely stay at kings arms hotel, room clean, staff excellent,5 stars.
Great stay
Staff very helpful, friendly and able to answer any questions. Food and service was great too. Room and bathroom spacious and clean.
My stay at Kings Arma
Kings Arms is a lovely hotel, staff very friendly and helpful, room was lovely ,great choices for breakfast. I would recommend anyone looking for hotel in Berwick should go to Kings Arms.
Great
The hotel was central, very clean and comfortable and the food was delicious.
Excellent hotel,Drinks, dinner, bed, breakfast what more could anyone ask for.
Excellent hotel,Located central, close to the shops I want to visit. The parking is not the fault of the hotel, but one has keep an eye out for the parking attendentd. This is the second time I have stayed there on my visits to the UK
Very comfortable
Very pleasant stay - nice room, excellent catering. Staff were exceedingly helpful.
Fantastic! Love it here!
Cannot speak highly enough about this hotel. Friendly staff with excellent customer service skills - particularly Gillian on reception and the restaurant staff. The food here is awesome - the spaghetti bolognaise I had was delicious. The room I stayed in and the facilities were very good and the bed was very comfortable. Cannot wait to stay here again - when I can afford to that is. Yep, for me the King's Arms is the best hotel in Berwick.
Short Break Stay
The hotel in general was good. The rooms are clean and tidy and in good decor although the sloping floors were a bit unusual. The staff were very polite and helpful. The Vine and Olive restaurant was very good. My only real complaint was the bar had no single malt whisky. Iwould certainly come back to the Kings Arms Hotel.
Fantastic stay with top quality food
Last minute decision to come to Berwick and not disappointed. Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout all areas of the hotel. Donatis and Amin made us possibly the best meal ever, which was great value for money.
Great
Location was the best
very good
had a nice stay in the hotel. good and claen room. Nice staff and an excellent breakfast.
Wonderful central location within the town centre
The Kings Arms hotel , is in a central location within the historic town of Berwick Upon Tweed .The staff were very helpful and friendly .The hotel is very clean and my single room was very spacious and comfortable .The restaurant an Italian Bistro The Vine & Olive was very good , fab cocktails .There is a large garden at the back of the hotel which is a lovely suntrap .Thank you all I had a great time catching up with friends in the Berwick area .
Excellent place to stay.
Stayed here a few times now, Nice clean hotel, good facilities, lovely breakfast, all staff are welcoming, cheerful and helpful. will be staying again soon.
Very friendly helpful staff
We had a lovely room, and all all the staff very exceptionally friendly and helpful, delicious dinner in the evening.
Superb hotel
The Hotel location was great, all the staff were very friendly, rooms very clean, breakfast was superb Thanks for making our stay 👍100% will come back
Really Friendly staff
One night stay en route down south. , warm welcome ate in the adjoining Italian restaurant had a lovely meal and a few drinks . Very reasonable prices . Our room was large and airy and the most comfortable bed . Hotela wee bit tired but was being refurbished , which didn’t bother us at all . The staff were all so friendly and made us feel very welcome .
Very nice
Comfortable hotel. Clean and tidy. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.
Grand
A great weekend stay, staff were brilliant comfy room great breakfast. No sleep due to constant running water due to a plumbing malfunction. But that didn't take away from the efforts made by staff.
We will come back
The executive room is ample and clean. The personal is kind.
Lovely stay
Food in restaurant is lovely. Definitely recommend Scoglio Linguine.Rooms are a little tired in places, but had perfect nights sleep and close to lovely walks around the town.
Very good
Comfortable room.Friendly staff.Excellent food.
Good
Friendly, helpful and caring staffClean comfortable roomGood breakfasts with excellent choiceI would be happy to stay with you again and am happy to recommend you with no reservationsThank you
September stay
We enjoyed our stay.My comments would be...I was surprised breakfast wasn't included in the room rate; the breakfast service was a bit erratic (they didn't have a record of our booking and then forgot our order); not a great bar; pressure in the showers was a bit stop / start; wifi very poor. However the room was comfortable and well made up every day. Staff were friendly and helpful. Ideal spot for our golfing break.
Comfortable
Staff very helpful and advised on various aspects about Berwick on Tweed, walk, town and parking. Room most comfortable. Only issue was the dining area appeared noisy.
Excellent location in the heart of Berwick-Upon-Tweed
Arrived for 1 night stay. The reception staff were very helpful, directing us to all amenities and suggesting the best parking etc. The evening meal in the hotel restaurant was excellent and staff brilliant. Will return to the Kings Arms Hotel to stay for the next tour of the borders.
Excellent hotel.
This is an excellent hotel, with friendly caring staff. Spacious bedrooms and ensuites, comfortable beds and pillows. In a great location for touring the coastal trail.Well worth staying, would definitely recommend.
Good.
Comfortable room with everything I needed. Clean and warm.Very pleasant and helpful staff both on reception and in the dining room.Delicious breakfasts.Obviously the dining room is in need of refurbishment.
A great stay
We had a very enjoyable stay. The staff were very professional, friendly and helpful Our room was spacious and comfortable with a great ensuite bathroom that had both a shower and full-size bath.
Warm welcome
All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and spacious. The feature of the old fireplace added character to the room.Central location near the river, and easy to walk to the walls, barracks, shops and cafés.Breakfast cooked fresh to order with lots of choice for continental breakfast too.
Very nice .
Very nice around. Friendly ,and comfortable.A very interesting town and pleasant place . I only find that life all round is getting so 🤷 expensive !
A great break
We found all the staff very helpful and friendly. Particular thanks to Gillian on reception who was most helpful in arranging a further night for us and giving us very useful and informative advice. She made our stay easy and enjoyable. Thank you.
Very pleasant one night stay.
Very friendly and helpful staff, ate in the restaurant in the evening and enjoyed the food. Our room was spacious with a comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Hotel was full but we didn't hear anyone and we also enjoyed the rear garden.
Standard
We stayed in a twin room for one night and moved to a superior room for a further three nights. The staff have been very helpful, Jillian the receptionist has been extremely helpful. The twin room was okay but breakfast was extremely poor, the staff tried very hard, order was wrong and when it did arrive it was very poor. Certainly wast worth what we paid for b&b. Let’s hope the next 3 nights are better!!!
High standard.
High standard, very good accommodation,Great food, lovely rear garden, staff friendly. We will be back in the new year.
Very enjoyable stay.
Called in off chance to see if any rooms availableSpoke to a lovely very helpful lady on reception there were rooms free. got in touch later that day & booked a superior double room.Very large room, with lots of lovely historical features ie fireplace, large windows with floor to ceiling curtains. Very clean with tea & coffee making facilities. Modern large bathroom with a bath & over bath shower plus separate shower cubicle. toiletries also provided ie body wash, shampoo conditioner, soap etc. Very comfy bed. We didn't eat in that evening although there did seem to be a very comprehensive menu. Breakfast we can not fault absolutely delicious with the added bonus of being able to see it being cooked. Very mindblowing choice of dishes on offer. We must just mention the young man who was the waiter, very attentive, polite and interested in our choices, he worked tirelessly Out of a scale of 1-10 we would give him 11. The out side of the building is covered in scaffolding due to renovations but don't let that put you off. even if it is still there next year we will return. The hotel does not have its own parking but there is a free 24 hr car park near by which we were directed to by the lovely helpful lady on reception. Parking outside the hotel is available for two hours with a parking disc that can be purchased for £1 from some local shops.
Well Positioned Hotel
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay though the bathroom left a little to be desired i.e., access into bath and poor lighting.Reception staff all polite and extremely helpful
Great staff
The staff were friendly welcoming and attentive. The on site restaurant was superb. Best spaghetti bolognese I have ever had. Lovely atmosphere in the dining room.
Great hotel
Receptionist was friendly and very helpful. All staff were warm and friendly. Room was excellent clean bed very comfortable
Excellent stay
Excellent staff good food and a very comfortable room.
Relaxing stay.
We had a lovely stay,The bedroom and bathroom were clean and quietWe loved the bathroom. The staff on reception were welcoming and helpful.Breakfast was a slightly odd experience. My eggs Benedict were served cold. The staff seemed slightly unprepared and scatty. All in all we would love to stay again and I am sure we will be back soon.
A great place to stay
Enjoyed our stay very much. We were made to feel very welcome. The staff were very helpful and were always very pleasant and chatty. The room was ok with lots of character - the floor appeared to be sloping as did the bathroom which gave us a bit of a strange feeling of feeling inebriated most of the time. We weren’t of course !!The room was clean though and was serviced every day.Breakfast was good with an adequate selection of choices.Parking was a bit of a nuisance. Having to park at the bottom of the road in a public car park and then walk back up to the hotel ——-fortunately for us the weather was good. Parking was free though which was good.
Great hotel
Friendly, clean, reasonably priced, decent breakfast, great location in a lovely historic town.
Lovely decor
The hotel is under refurbishment but that didn't affect us at all. The building is beautiful and the cocktail lounge/cafe/beer garden and restaurant are excellent. The rooms are nicely decorated and large. Just a few staff problems due to being understaffed, just like anywhere else - they were working hard!Thank you for a lovely stay.
A very enjoyable stay
I spent 3 nights in the Hotel. The accommodation was very comfortable , spotlessly clean and had everything I required eg ironing equipment and hairdryer.I enjoyed an evening meal in the restaurant and breakfast every morning and they were more than satisfactory. The staff were very helpful and friendly. As a local resident I am delighted to see that the hotel is once more offeringa range of different Function and meal options.I will certainly recommend it to my family and friends. One thing I would like to point out is that although the bathroom is lovely perhaps less able guests might find the bath a bit difficult to get into.
Lovely!
Our room was a spacious double room, that was very clean and tidy. My husband especially liked having a coffee maker in the room not just a kettle, a really nice touch. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The Awesome hotel
Loved our stay at Kings Arms. Central location, close to shops and restaurants. Very comfortable room and bed. Staff extremely helpful and kind. Thanks for providing a comfy place for us to relax.
Great stay
Comfortable room, didn't have breakfast as we prefer to eat late morning, very friendly staff, the receptionist was a lovely lady, very helpful.
Ok
Ok, except for two fire alarms that disturbed our sleep
Great as always!
Stayed here many times before over the years, it is always friendly, comfortable and clean. Great location right in the town centre.
Short break away.
Enjoyable four nights stay in Berwick-upon-Tweed. Would recommend this hotel for comfort and cleanliness. Lovely room on the first floor.
Totally Chilled!
We’ve stayed at The Kings Arms lots of times and we always enjoy the very relaxed atmosphere, and friendliness of the staff. We only stayed for one night as they were fully booked. We spent the previous night at a nearby hotel and were woken up at the crack of dawn by what sounded like kids jumping off beds, nightmare! So we were so happy to check in to the Kings Arms and enjoy a chilled out time ,and a great nights sleep. Lovely wee cocktail bar and beer gardenA special mention to thegirls who keep the rooms spotlessly clean, and receptionists who are very welcoming and happy to help you with anything. Thank You All
Nice hotel
Hotel was clean and comfy need to put a mirror in the room nowhere to do your hair
A Friendly and pleasant place to stay
The staff at the hotel were all so helpful and friendly, without exception ( Call out to our breakfast waiter in particular!) The hotel itself is clean and spacious and the outdoor seating area is a real haven. Well positioned for local eateries and the estuary, it was an ideal base for our break in Berwick and surrounding areas. The decor is a little "confused" probably due to trying to please too many different types of customer and tired in places too,but we felt it was value for money and with a little upgrade could be an absolute gem. THe bedrooms are lovely and spacious , as was the ensuite and well stocked with tea/coffee/biscuits every day, which was a treat.
Lovely stay
Very pleasant stay.
Highly recommended
Fantastic friendly staff in all areas.Location rightin the centre and close to city walls.Wonderful walks near to the hotel. The garden area at the back of the hotel is a hidden gem. Food excellent. Cocktails are 2 for 1 and superb .Close to lovely beaches. There is no parking at the hotel but this was not an issue as there are many close car parks and most are free. We had a familiy room which was very spacious
Excellent stay
Have stayed at the king’s arms 8 times and have enjoyed every stay such a friendly hotel also booked for next year thanks to the staff
Great, reliable, comftable
This is the second time I have stayed here for our Battalions Minden Weekend. I have booked again for next year.I stayed in room 3 at the top of the first flight of stairs. The room was spacious, the bed was a double and very comftable, and the bathroom had both a seperate shower and a bath.I had the full Englishbreakfast both days and it was great. More than filled me up.All the staff were brilliant and very helpful.Location right in the heart of Berwick was fantastic and everything is within walking distance.I cant recommend this place highly enough.See you again next year Kings Arms.
Great weekend
Stayed here for Minden Day parade. Room quite spacious comfortable bedtea and coffee provided Staff are always cheerful and polite Not our first time at the Kings Arms hotel and won't be our last See you next year xxxx
Really welcoming and comfortable
The hotel is having work done on the building, scaffolding etc. but in spite of that we had a great stay. The room was traditional like the hotel, big bed bright but with thick curtains. A lovely modern bathroom with a bath and walkin shower. There were lots of toiletries, coffee, chocolate, tea and biscuits in the room and the towels changed and room cleaned even though we only stayed 2 days. Breakfast was huge, and really tasty. Also the staff were friendly from reception, breakfast room and housekeeping they were so nice.
Respite from the heat wave
I booked a last minute stay at the Kings Arms when the trains to London stopped running during the heat wave. The staff was friendly and the room was large, clean, and comfortable--and cool, despite the heat. The outside of the building is under renovation, but the inside is in fine shape. Very close to good restaurants and a beach and about a 15 minute walk from the train station.
Absolutely fine
Only one problem being the Fire Alarm at 2.20 am on my second night...a little annoying...otherwise fine thank you
Nice comfortable hotel
Great location. Comfortable room.
A weekend visit
Staff very obliging. Hotel is obviously being refurbished, hopefully will be back to its former glory
A Lovely Relaxing Stay Again.
We booked direct with the hotel and got a great price for a lovely double room.We received a very warm welcome from the receptionist. Our room was spotlessly clean , and as requested had a window we could open as it was extremely warm weather. The bed was very comfy and we slept like logs! We never had breakfast this time, but on previous visits the breakfast was excellent. We only booked for two nights, but enjoyed it so much, we stayed an extra night. All staff were lovely, Thank You AllX
Comfortable
A pleasant stay with pleasant staff
Fabulous room
I can definitely recommend staying here. Lovely staff, great location, the room was spacious and the bathroom beautifully renovated with a separate bath and shower. Great value too.
Visit to Berwick
Booked a Superior suite for an over night stay while we visited Berwick on Saturday 16 July .Upon our early arrival @ 1300 we were given a friendly greeting by the receptionist and asked to wait until check in at 1500 as our room wasn’t ready yet . We had parked just outside the hotel and needed a disc to display on our dashboard this she kindly supplied on loan to us until we had booked in with all our hold-alls . The beer garden to the rear of the hotel is very pleasant to sit in and with the weather being hot was very busy , the staff were very attentive and friendly and out order was promptly dealt with .We had to move our car from the front of the hotel to the long stay car park which further down the hill. This carpark is free to use .The room we were given was lovely and very big with a very large firm comfortable bed .The standard of decor was nice and the room had a kettle with tea and coffee and also a coffee pod machine .Free WiFi .A nice television to watch , and a hairdryer was also supplied in the room .There is no fridge or wall safe for valuables in the room .Breakfast was £10:99 per person and had to be reserved when booking in on arrival. The full english breakfast which we had the following morning was plenty full and nicely cooked .The menu in the restaurant had some nice choices and as a resident you get 10% discount. The food was nicely cooked and presented and promptly served by Carl who was very attentive and polite. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay in this lovely hotel and thank you 😊
Super!
We were delighted with our stay - we had a lovely and spacious room with en suite bathroom - all very nicely appointed. The hotel was charming and has its own fun bar - great for a pre prandial drink and or night cap! Lovely staff, helpful and professional. We would return as well as recommend this hotel.
Seagulls
Fab hotel very friendly room was excellent, but the seagulls woke ne up at 5am they are so loud, but other than that it was good.
A very comfortable stay
After a long 20+ mile walk up the coast, the hotel was easily located over the bridge and slightly uphill. I was greeted by a friendly and helpful receptionist and my room was clean, modern-looking, with both a bath and shower. The evening meal was decent enough and the following morning's breakfast, very good. The sea and coastal path, a short 5 minute walk away.
Average
On entering the hotel was very disappointed to see grass and weeds growing through the stepped entrance. Kind of sets alarms ringing right away as staff must use the entrance constantly. Not the best welcome !Anyway comfortable room and good breakfast for an overnight stay.
Lovely hotel to stay at
Found the staff to be very pleasant and friendly room was cleam and comfortable has plenty of restaurants in local area and close to town
Four day Break
An enjoyable time spent in Berwick and a comfortable hotel to return to each evening. We went up to North Berwick, East Fortune museum, down to Alnwick and many places inbetween. The only problem was the gulls bombarding my car and the dustbins onview, outside our bedroom window. The staff were charming and very helpful and a pleasure to get to know. So thankyou for our fullsum break.
Mini Break
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel which was within easy access to local amenities. It was tastefully decorated and our room was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful especially when we heard dripping noise in the bathroom during the heavy rainfall which fortunately didn’t come to anything - a brown patch was to be seen. We had breakfast on the Saturday morning and found the tea to be lukewarm so asked for another which was fine . We certainly found it to be a relaxing break so thank you all.
Excellent
Nice hotel family room was great with excellent breakfast. Beer garden just as good but shame restaurant had to close early but that's the same with lots of places due to staffing.
Lovely stay
Had 2 nights at the king's arms comfortable clean room, great reception team and wonderful walled beer garden!
Great room
Lots oh history attached to this place - Charles Dickens for one
Very comfortable room pleasant staff enjoyed staying
Would come back again
Friendly
Lovely central hotel staff welcoming. Room nicely decorated but did’nt like the view from the window or the noise of xpellar from the kitchen as it was only a short stay it was tolerable. Apart from that food was good nice surroundings would book in again.
Very pleasant
A very nice hotel with a large airy room and was v clean. Overall friendly staff in bar and reception. Lovely beer garden. Restaurant was not so good. I had the risotto which was v bland and the service was underwhelming. I would stay again but avoid the restaurant
Review
The hotel was comfortable and is conveniently located, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The room was clean though there was a leak of water from the toilet system above.
Mini break
Had a lovely time at berwick hotel was far better than I expected rooms were very modern the food was very goodd staff was very friendly I would definitely recommend looking forward to go back
Great accommodation and location
Amazing experience, really spacious rooms with clean facilities and incredibly friendly staff. Very central location and amazing area.Had a great time and would highly recommend this hotel!
Jubilee weekend
Nice hotel in a great location. Hotel getting refurbished at the moment so will look forward to returning once its done. Cocktail bar is fab.
Very enjoyable
Really enjoyed are stay. Am sure the staircase and other areas will look amazing when finished. Bedroom was excellent and refurbished to a high standard - probably needs a bit of snagging completing. Restaurant was terrific, food good service and atmosphere brilliant. Only thing would suggest to change is staff on the evening chatting in the courtyard is quite loud especially in room 27. Had a great time.
Andrei is beyond excellent with the way he deals with everyone , it was honestly a joy to meet him.Refreshing that this hotel has windows and wonderful baths …just one comment that I believe some of the doors could benefit from cushioning to stop the loud slamming ❤️👍
Lovely baths, housekeeping staff are excellent. Andrei is an amazing ambassador for Kings Arms….Cups are rather small and hard to hold in rooms in my humble opinion plus just some doors would benefit from cushioning to stop the loud slamming 👍❤️
The stay was comfortable and clean staff were friendly and helpful a pleasant stsy.
The hotel was under refurbishment at the time so bare floorboards otherwise a lovely stay.
Excellent Stay
Although the Kings Arms was going through some organisational changed this did not deter from the excellent service we received. The food was first rate at dinner and breakfast the staff all pleasant and helpful, very clean comfortable rooms and a good central location for Berwicks many attractions.Would stay again.
thanks
Single room was better than I expected from website photos, and I felt safe as a lone female.Staff friendly & welcoming.2 minor points in room 5 need attention: (1) the TV signal isn't reliable - particularly when first switched on, it cuts out/freezes (2) the toilet flushing mechanism when flushed on full flush seemed to then trigger endless refilling of water, which could only be stopped by flushing again using minor flush mechanism.
Room was very nice and location was very good.
Hotel was nice.
Great Hotel
Have stopped at this hotel a few times now as it is a lovely old hotel with quirky features friendly staff good value for money Rooms are big and beds very comfortable will always stay here when in the area.
exellent
first class hotel with very freindly staff ,restraunt was very good overall no complaints
Date weekend
Fabulous staff.clean warm room, plenty of hot water, lovely bath shower room, lovely sun trap beer garden, definitely stay again.
Excellent accommodation
Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable room with everything you'd need.Central location. Delicious breakfasts. Hope to return soon.
Great place
We had a fantastic stay in the Kings Arms Hotel. The room was rather small, but cosy, the food was good and the staff was very helpful and kind.
Good choice
Put off by first impression because of very steep steps into reception, happy to find another safer entrance at the back. Room was large and bed and linen etc comfortable. H7ge spotless bathroom with shower cubicle and bath with shower.Occasional noise from outside but not enough to cause serious disturbance. Cold first night but portable heater soon fixed that. Sadly restaurant was closed first night and our 2 course meal was not honoured, but we were compensated by a free bottle of wine. seemed only pizza and faccaccio other nights but a pleasant restaurant Limoncello was only a few yards away. The hotel cocktail bar had a large list of cocktails and was relatively inexpensive.Outside was a pleasant walled garden but it was too cold for us to sit out and enjoy it when we were there. Staff were wonderful.Room could be slightly less drab with a minimum of effort, it was dominated by dark carpet, dark wood furniture and drab curtains. If new prettier fresh curtains and a few colourful pictures could be put on the walls it would make a lot of difference.
Nice room
We enjoyed our stay. Our room was nice and breakfast was good too.We ate in the Italian restaurant too, food was lovely.
Good Hotel
We had a very good stay at the Kings Arms Hotel nice staff and a good breakfast
Great
GreatOnly disappointed was the lack of restaurant as not informed that it was under refurbishment.
Fabulous
Our second time staying here.Excellent location with everything on your doorstep.Foxtons and Limoncello, two great restaurants, virtually next door.We stayed in a Superior room. Very spacious, and clean. All staff are very pleasant and helpful, breakfast excellent quality.I’d recommend the pancakes with bacon and maple syrup, yummy !!Bar does really good cocktails too and reasonable prices. The building has sustained some water damage from the bad storms of late and there is some water marks / damage on the ceiling etc,Although this is purely cosmetic, it could be doing with some attention. However, this would not put me off in any way in staying here again.Looking forward to our next visit already.Keith & LornaMusselburgh.
Nice hotel, good location
A nice hotel, v clean. Really comfortable bed and nice bathroom and shower. Friendly staff too.It wasn’t an issue for my stay but the TV didn’t work; the picture either glitched on and off or was just off on all channels. A bigger issue was that the Wi-Fi signal wasn’t accessible whilst sitting on the bed in the room. I had to be sat at the desk for it to work; moving 5 feet back to the bed lost the signal completely.
Excellent accommodation
Outside of the hotel (steps) need painting but once inside friendly staff , spacious rooms ,clean, comfy and would recommend to anyone staying in Berwick upon Tweed .
Lovely short break
Lovely clean pleasant hotel. Staff very pleasant and helpful. We have stayed here 3 times and have always had a excellent time, and we will return.
Great Stay in Berwick
Warm friendly welcome at reception, lovely big room with modern furniture,Tasty cooked breakfast with good cold selection, all round good stay.
Excellent location
Central location nice building and carachteristic, pleased to discover Charles Dickens lived there. Very good breakfast . Staff very professional and friendly the staff front desk super helpful when we experienced problem with wi-fi ti check the router and our devices.
Lovely hotel, bit of a noise problem
The hotel is really nice: big rooms with cosy furnishings and the basics you need. The staff are also super friendly and helpful, and it's in a really convenient spot.I'd just warn that if noise in the evening will be an issue (such as if you'll be trying to get a child to sleep) it can get really quite disruptive: like the hotel's manual says, it's a very old, historic building and it's not at all sound-insulating. The road outside can get pretty noisy on a Friday / Saturday evening and guests in the rooms above can cause a lot of noise just by moving around and talking. Probably not a deal-breaker for most, but it did make sleep a bit hard for my little one between people / cars on the road outside and upstairs guests getting back in in the early hours.Overall, I really recommend the place!
Better then expected.
I had seen pictures of the rooms on booking.com so I knew it was a nice hotel but when we got there it was better then expected.. we stayed in a superior double room, the room was huge, the bed was siper comfy.. the bath was amazing and the shower was good too. We booked for breakfast for the following morning, the breakfast room was little but a good size. The food was lovely.I will definitely be staying here again!
Our first experience
I found all staff where friendly and helpful staff from reception to dining room would certainly stay again.
great hotel
we had lovely stay at the kings arms .staff were excellent went the extra mile to assist us will definately return in future and would recommend this hotel
Really comfortable
Really comfortable and spacious room. The price reflects that the hotel is now a bit dated and faded but renovations are ongoing. Our only disappointment was the Cocktail bar. It looks ok but our Cocktails were dreadful, we ordered 2 gin Martinis (not on the cocktail menu) tasted awful and even a bit off, no whiff of Gin and had cubes of Ice in it and a slice of lime? resented paying for them
Good value for money
Room ok needed a wee touch of paint .room was cleaned every day but still had cob webs on ceiling .staff Great especially the girl who checked us in /she also served in bar /and also cooked us breakfast she was amazing good value for money
Really super hotel
We have just spent 3 nights at the hotel. We would thoroughly recommend it. The staff were very friendly but professional and made us really welcome. The room was very clean and comfortable and the towels were lovely, thick and fluffy also a good size. We had breakfast which was freshly cooked and perfectly to our requirements, nothing was too much trouble. All in all we had a wonderful stay and will definitely stay at the Kings Arms Hotel again. Thank you so much for a great stay.
Great Hotel
We loved our stayThanks
Surprisingly good
First impressions of the hotel from the outside was that it looked a bit tired, but after walking through the door and seeing what had been done, my view became very positive.Megan on reception was friendly & accommodating.Whilst ascending some stairs at the back of the hotel that are listed & being renovated, to get to the room (28), I feared the worst, but was met with a brand new room, with a great bed & bathroom. The bed was the best hotel bed, ever.Breakfast next morning was substantial & well cooked.Hotel is well recommended.
comfortable room, helpful staff, lovely breakfast
disappointed that dinner was not available (as agreed) but management made amends. Staff always pleasant and helpful. Room modern and comfortable with roomy bathroom. Excellent breakfasts.
👍 great
Was lovely to stay and enjoyed our night away breakfast was really good will definitely be back
Fab
We finally got here after booking 2yrs ago storms then pandemic stopped us getting here. Lovely staff, great bed with lovely white bedding and gorgeous white towels and very clean room. Breakfast was amazing we chose full English. We received free cocktails on arrival they were so good lovely touch. Would definitely recommend if having a trip to Berwick.
Double Room
Good, clean, warm rooms and Breakfast was excellent
Lovely time
Nice hotelLovely foodCocktails on arrival lovelyEnjoyed staying recommend
Great stay
I stay at the hotel every July when i come to Berwick for minden day i can't fault the hotel i love my stay every time I come and i will be there this year
Lovely at first
Lovely hotel , decorated very well considering the age of the building, great location to all amenities.Sadly on our arrival we discovered both the bins in the room had the previous occupants rubbish in themand where the Tewa and coffee facilities were , the walls hadteam n coffee stains running down them, we were a bit disappointed at this but it wasn’t a big deal .The Sunday evening we decided to use the hotel bar and when we entered there were 2 younger couples obviously the worse for wear. The bar maid/ person kept supplying them with shots and cocktails even although they clearly had enough and were very loud and disruptive. We didn’t finish the drinks we bought and retired to our room as the atmosphere was a bit toxic.5 mins in our room and we heard absolute chaos coming from the bar. Shouting and obvious furniture being thrown about, I tried calling reception to see if the bar maid was ok or if she wanted me to call the police. There was no answer despite my constant calling. My husband and I were holed up in the room for the rest of the night ( not a nice way to finish of our break)I told the young girl on reception in the morning of our departure, although she acknowledged the complaint and admitted the police had to be called , she also said they were starting new cleaners as they had problems, we never got an apology for our poor experience.I know trouble can come Pitt of now where but had the bar person perhaps been more vigilant or maybe more experienced, this could have been avoided.Sorry to say I wouldn’t visit here again due to the way all of the above was handled. I will be back in the locality but will need to find other accommodation.Such a pitty as the food was excellent and so was the welcome we got on arrival from the male in reception, he was down to earth and very informative on parking ect
Very pleasurable stay at The King's Arms
The King's Arms is very well located in the centre of the town. Close to all amenities. Our room (6) was very spacious with tea and coffeefacilities. The bath towels provided were a good size and quality. The full English breakfast was very good in both quality food and portionswith othe options available. The staff were very friendly, helpfuland welcoming. We were approx 25 minutes drive from Lindisfarne and Seahouses which were places we planned to visit whilst in Berwick-upon Tweed. The onlyminus was the restaurant was not open at the time of our visit, but they were planning to reopen it soon. However, they recommend the Italian restaurant just below the hotel and we went there twice. Good food and atmosphere. If the restaurant was open we would have given a 5 out of 5. Would still come back and stay here again room 6.
Pleasant visit
Room was very clean and a good price for the size, location was also great. Bath in room 3 didn’t work (plug continuously leaked water) and the rooms window looked out on to a stair way on the roof. There were people (workmen?) going up and down constantly so didn’t feel private and had to keep blinds closed.
Amazing
Absolutely loved the roomthe bathroom was even better very fancybed was very comfyrelaxing staying here brilliant staff very helpful and never anything to much to ask forWill definitely be back10/10
80th birthday
Had a lovely time the staff were all lovely and very helpful, the coffee shop and cocktail bar are worth a visit
Great value
Lovely hotel friendly staff. Hotel was ideally positioned for our trips out. Great value and a thoroughly enjoyable stay
First class stay at the King Arms
Wasn't quite sure what to expect with the hotel being rated 2 star but reckon it falls into the category 3/4 star. Check in was seamless and the girl on reception made us feel welcome immediately. With the restaurant being closed we had lunch one day and breakfast two mornings. No complaints on the food. Bedrooms were a good size and the beds were comfortable. We had a couple of drinks in the cocktail bar and again could not fault the friendliness of the bar staff. To summarise we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Berwick. We will certainly return.
Lovely place to stay
Very happy with the room will stay there again
Weekend stay
Staff very friendly, nice big room, very clean, breakfast enjoyable, would recommend hotel overall.
Super clean comfortable room
Clean comfortable room & bathroom. Bed very comfy. Cocktail bar very welcoming. Will re-visit .
Excellent central hotel
Had a very good stay at this hotel. The location was excellent, the room was spacious and warm and a great choice available at breakfast. Would stay there again.
Really good place to stay
I stayed in this hotel for two nights. The only one inconvenience was not working heating in room. When I reported it to receptionist, lady organized some workaround for this, so I lived there in really comfortable conditions. In fact, it was said on booking.com that in the period of my stay there was ongoing renovation and some of the features might not work. It was also very good that doors have applied alarm in case when you didn't close them (kind of reminder). It was perfect also that for low price I got also breakfast included. Hotel service was so helpful and location was nice to get from anywhere in Berwick.
Fabulous
Absolutely fab loved everything about it , friendly staff , fab food and drinks loved the cocktails and we will definitely be returning soon
Berwick break
Very enjoyable 2 night stay. Room very spacious and tidy. Bathroom lovely with large bath and 2 showers.Breakfast perfect both days and the lady’s that cooked them and served were lovely and a credit to the hotel. Bar staff and reception staff also very good.Great stay and will come back.
26 wedding anniversary
We had a great stay at the Kings Arms Hotel. The room was comfortable the staff where very friendly & helpful. The cooked fresh breakfast was very nice indeed.
Great Location
Rooms clean and tidyExcellent service
Perfect
What a splendid hotel.Staff, food, setting, environment perfect.Back to a proper personal establishment.Well done to all.
Welcoming and comfortable
Lovely little hotel with great freshly cooked breakfast. Room was spacious and clean, and bathroom facilities were fab - very powerful shower. Only downside was the wi-fi in the room was very poor.
Lovely
Friendly staff ,lovely and clean ,great location andone of the comfiest beds I’ve slept on
Very enjoyable, lovely, welcoming staff
Had a lovely stay. Just need to send a massive thank you to the young girl on the reception, she really looked after me and made me feel relaxed and welcome. Would definatly come back
Short Stay
Staff very friendly rooms very smart and cleanEnjoyed breakfast on the whole very enjoyable experience
Pleasant.
Rooms were okay. Nice comfy bed.Shower hose wasn't detachable and given the fact we didn't have a bath it wasn't Ideal.Apart from that we had a nice time and the staff were lovely and very welcoming and obliging. A nice warm atmosphere in the small bar area but the prices were a little over the top.
Stay at kings arms
Our stay at the Kings arms was excellent, the rooms were clean and modern. The breakfast was 10/10. The only small grumble we may have is that the staff were not very welcoming, no one said enjoy your stay that one sentence would have made a big difference. But the woman from the coffee shop was pleasant and overall we had a nice stay at the Kings Arms
Pleasant stay
After checking into Room 25 I noticed an unacceptable stain on the duvet cover. After 'phoning reception the receptionist apologized and asked us to come down to get key for room 28 because she was unable to change duvet cover for us as she could not leave reception. After settling in our new room the toilet flush wouldn't work, another call was made and the receptionist came promptly and fixed it. She left us with the screwdriver and said she would report it in the morning. We didn't have a problem with it after that but no one fixed the outer fixture. Saturday afternoon the fire alarm went off intermittently for half an hour, no reason was given. Our room was comfortable and breakfast was very good.Staff were attentive and pleasant.
Great value hotel
The Kings Arms, Berwick upon Tweed is centrally located. The hotel was comfortable and the staff were helpful and friendly. The room was well equipped and clean and comfortable.Breakfast choices were varied and the food was tasty and well presented. The temperature of the shower was a bit changeable going from tepid to cool but the bathroom was large with lovely fluffy towels.Overall we had a lovely stay and the hotel was great value for money. Wouldstay here again and would have no hesitation recommending this hotel.
Very comfortable
My room was very comfortable and the staff where very friendly and accommodating.
Nice central hotel
Enjoyed our stay very clean and room facilities good nice breakfast helpful staff
Excellent stay
Very impressed with this hotel. We stayed for 4 nights and the room was spotlessly clean with tea & coffee facilities, this included biscuits. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Location great to wander round Berwick easily. Would definately recommend this hotel
Will stay again !!
Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast lovely.Room was very spacious and clean highly recommended and in an ideal place nice Italian next door.
Lovely
Old fashioned but did exactly what it should have doneStaff delightful and very helpfulGreat breakfast and coffee bar
Good value
Booked night before as spur of moment trip on train. Very central, good room and great breakfast, good value
Comfortable and cosy
We have stayed at the hotel on a few occasions and it has always been pleasant. This stay was exceptionally great and I would like to thank Andre for his great service
Lovely stay
The hotel itself is lovely. Situated right next to some great long walks around the walls and coast of Berwick. The room was great with everything you need and breakfast sorted us for the day.
Good service.
Good service.
Very comfortable
Room and bathroom were very comfortable. A good sized room with chairs which were ideal for relaxing. Breakfast was excellent, staff were all so welcoming and friendly. Definitely would recommend.
Beautiful place
Beautiful place, with fantastic staff and great food and drinks, however amendities in rooms need maintenance i.e toilet and bathroom appliances if in Berwick we would definitely return
An excellent stop-over
We received a warm and helpful welcome from the hotel staff. Our room was more than adequate and the breakfast excellent. We hope to return sometime.
I would not like to go again
We booked at The Kings Arms Hotel weeks before our stay and booked a table for dinner only to be told on arrival the dining room was closed, radiator in our room not working in December? On the following morning could not shower as the on/off control in the walk in shower came off in my husband's hand with no water so he stood in the shower over the bath for ten minutes and still could get no hot water we just had to wash and go on our special trip to our daughter's in Aberdeen without proper bathing, we are not impressed at all.Don't go to this hotel!!
Good
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was nice, the bath and bathroom excellent. The room was a a Kurtis cold, the tv and wifi weren’t the best.Breakfast was good, would have liked a plain yoghurt although the porridge was excellent.I could taste vinegar on my poached eggs, black pudding gorgeous.Fruit salad tasted funny. Overall a good stay
Port in a storm - literally
We live very near this hotel but because of Storm Arwen we had no water supply. After more than a day of being unable to shower or flush a loo we booked into this hotel. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. It was such a relief to be here.
Good hotel and good staff
I booked a family room but due to some idiot stealing the remote for the TV we had to have a smaller room. But have not received any refund as yet. We had no heating on the Friday night due to storm damage and water leaking into our room the staff were really helpful especially Angus who got us a bucket for the rain and tried to help us. The heating was restored the next day so thank you again Angus. I would definitely stay here again even though the staff were rushed off their feet they did a great job
Plesant
The hotel staff were all lovely, the room was nice and the bed, oh my, it was so comfy. It was a bit noisy on Saturday night until the early but not a problem for us. Would defintely recommend it.4.5 ⭐
Very good
On arrival the reception staff were very helpful and well mannered. The room was very clean and nice.the room staff came in daily to check and replace eny drinks items I had used, the hotel bar was very good ,great bar staff and a good selection of beers and wines.all in all I had a very pleasant stay.thankyou all.
Great for a short break in Berwick-upon-TWEED
Couple of lovely nights stopover while fitting in a short end of year Motorcycle tour. Comfy beds & large rooms mad for a very comfortable stay. Staff were very friendly & helpful.
Really lovely hotel
Lovely old hotel with some original featuresFriendly staff rooms very comfortable and well servicedThanks
Excellent
On arrival the receptionist informed us of the parking situation in Berwick and gave good advice on where to park for free which was very much appreciated. The hotel was very welcoming, the room we had room 11 was lovely I wish I had a single bed as big at that when I was a child. The restaurant is closed which is unfortunate but there are plenty of places to eat in Berwick. The bar in the hotel gives a feeling of opulence whilst being cosy. and the cocktails were delicious.I would certainly stay here again if i was coming to Berwick.
Great Hotel
Very clean and comfortable hotel. Staff friendly and very helpful. Great cocktails at reasonable prices. Room cleaned everyday. We will definitely be back.
Lovely hotel
Very comfortablestaff pleasant abd professionalfood good qualitylovely cocktail bar.
4 night stay bed and breakfast
We enjoyed our stay. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable with good lighting and drinks making facilities. We did spend quite a lot of time in our room and would have liked more comfortable chairs! Somewhere to put shower cream other than on the floor would be an improvement. However overall it was a good stay and staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Good location of course.
Fantastic stay
Hotel was lovely nice big clean room comfy bed , staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was a 10/10 loads of choice and the full English was probably the best I’ve had in agesOnly one bad point , evening meal menu was limited and could do with improvements but the food was very good that we orderedWill be back next year
Friendly comfortable hotel.
The staff were lovely, the room was clean and comfortable. Good breakfast with great care taken to provide a glutin free for the coeliac in our party.
Lovely spacious room.
Lovely spacious room. Very clean. Will be returning
Very good and enjoyable
Great location clean good breakfast.
NOT VALUE FOR MONEY
Very disappointed with the room , was not value for money compared with the Black Bull @ The Golden Fleece @ Thirsk . I would not recommend your Hotel to any of my friends I would only give it 1 star
Fantastic
Room was comfortable and clean. Staff were really helpful and friendly and nothing was too much for them. The hotel is in a great location and would definitely stay again.
Nice hotel.
A friendly hotel with some character and not clinical or corporate. Large room and bathroom with a walk in shower as well as a bath. The food we had in the restaurant was very good.Despite staff absences one morning the remaining staff stayed cheerful and overcame the problems to serve breakfast. The hotel is well placed for exploring the town and the coast.
Welcome break home
1st appearances don’t always tell the right story. The front of the hotel needs a paint and tidy up. However when you go in, it changes. The room was lovely. Spacious clean everything that you need. The staff are the best thing about this hotel. Friendly, welcoming, helpful and cheerful. The gentleman on reception was good and explained everything clearly. We had a drink in the bar later and members of staff who passed through stopped to ask if we were ok anything we needed and talked about attractions in the area. Breakfast was cooked as you waited. We watched the cook. Proper tomatoes not from a can. The young man who served was the best. Couldn’t have been more helpful. We were impressed how the staff wanted to sell Berwick on Tweed and encourage us to visit. If we come back this way, we will look at staying here again.
Great hotel
Great hotel, fantastic staff, rooms lovely, food great
Very Good
It’s a lovely hotel in the heart of Berwick, we would definitely stay here again.
Great
Lovely comfortable beds, the staff are all lovely. My only concern was having to pay extra for breakfast although it was lovely.
Quiet
Nice room looking into main street
Very nice hotel and bedroom
Just returned home having stayed in The Kings Arms for two nights.Nice room and really comfortable bed. Bathroom was also very nice.Very central to town and nice restaurants.
Quite pleasant
Comfortable room with all usual facilities. Bathroom had not been completely cleaned. Still trash in the bin and part used shampoo bottle.
Excellent accommodation
We stayed for 2 nights in an Executive King room and the room and facilities were excellent with plenty of room for a couple, not always found in other hotels. The staff were very helpful at all times and we really enjoyed our stay.
Overnight stay.
Excellently appointed hotel in walking distance of free parking. Beautiful bathroom with walk-in shower. Sadly, the restaurant was not open for dining other than for breakfast but I can recommend the Limonella italian restaurant next door.Foolishly, I left my Braun electric toothbrush in the bathroom. I have been in contact with the hotel's reception who have promised to post it back to me.
Enjoyable stay
Hotel is in the centre of Berwick convenient for all amenities. My recent stay was in a very nice room that was clean and comfortable.
Excellence
This hotel is an absolute gem. The interior design is quite unique, spacious and interesting to say the least. The staff took care in helping two 83 years old ladies with limited mobility. Breakfast was excellent. Well done. I wish we had stayed longer!
Comfortable and clean
We enjoyed or stay at the Kings Arms Hotel, The bedrooms were clean and spacious, housekeeping good and staff very pleasant and helpful.
As advertised
Good, clean, friendly. The staff worked very hard and long hours.
Really nice hotel
Convenient location, nice beer garden, really big bedroom with bath and separate shower cubicle. Not offered free wifi so guess they dont have it. We overlooked the street so could be a bit noisy first thing but we would definitely recommend it.
Excellent
We had a lovely stay. Hotel was spotlessly clean large room and en-suite. Extremely helpful and attentive staff. We also had a great meal in the restaurant . We will definitely be back.
Kings Head Berwick
Set right in the town centre close to all amenitiesLovely period buildingsRooms are of a good size with large bathroomsParking is limited on the street free parking after 1800 to 0900
Great hotel with a lovely room
Easy to book, lovely room with everything you need for an overnight stay. Only problem was the water in the showers was too hot and when we tried to change the temperature the water pressure became really low.
Great
Not noisy and hassle free. Also friendly staff, would recommend:)
Pleasant stay
Clean comfortable with helpful staff.
Very nice hotel
Very nice hotel clean and staff are very friendly
Lovely
Lovely clean room breakfast was very nice would stay again
Excellent
Clean. Friendly staff. Spacious room.Lovely hotel.
Great stay
Very friendly and helpful staff throughout our stayClean and spacious room with comfortable bedFull English breakfast did not disappoint
Rubbish
Not as picture describes not worth 129pounds a night lots of things wronged with it
I did not feel in any way u ncomfortable
I was very comfortable my only problem which I forgot to mention in my booking request I couldn't use theshower because of my mobility problems.
The Verdict
Hi, I enjoyed the clean spacious room with comfy bed, good English breakfast and friendly staff. It is also a good location for the water front or town facilities. The not so good points were lack of dedicated parking and in contrast to the interior, the main street exterior looked run down and dirty. Especially the steps with flaking paint, grass sprouting on the canopy roof and algae coating the flag poles.
Worth a stay.
Clean, comfortable and excellent service.
Stayed 16th august to 20th august
Great location hotel comfortable hotel grounds and bar and restaurant very good rooms need some small updates but that is made up for by the excellent reception team that work day time and night time so friendly and helpful all hours of the day and night a real credit to the hotel
Very friendly and helpful staff
The hotel was very well, organised. The room was lovely, our only complaint would be the view from room 12, it was pretty daunting! Spotlessly clean, everything you would need. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We were allowed to leave our luggage when we arrived very early from the train, and also when leaving after checking out, which was really helpful. We would definitely stay here again.
Nightmare
I booked this hotel fir my brother as he needed time away as suffering mental illness . I showed him the pictures before going and was very excited to stay , on arrival he phoned me to say the room was horrendous and bedding was crushed and stained . There was ring marks on the condiment tray and the whole place was unwelcoming. He left immediately because he felt anxious and didn’t want to stay
Excellent service. Clean rooms
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful.Rooms are very comfortable and clean. Will stay there again.
Excellent
Great hotel fantastic staff highly recommend it .
Great
I dont normally bother to give reviews but I am pleased to do this one.Everything about this hotel was much better than expected. Every member of staff I encountered was very helpful and attentive. The room was spaceous and clean and tidy andhad an altogether very comfortable stay. If ever I need to stay in the area again I will be heading straight to this hotel
Great hotel
I have stayed at the Kings Arms for the last 8 years on last weekend in August.friendly staff good food and service.woudnt go anywhere else
Lovely place for visiting Northumberland and Scotland
Wonderful breakfast and supper. Excellent service from staff.

My stay
Very nice place staff were friendly and breakfast was gorgeous
lovely overnight stay
Lovely Hotel in a great position, friendly staff( nothing was too much trouble) definately be returning. Thanks Guys
Nice
Reception area nice. Rooms nice however noisy at night. Fan continuous in bathroom. Felt breakfast should have been included for £105.
Very comfortable
Staff were exceptionally polite and helpful
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay!
Had a great time. Room comfortable and restaurant food much better than most hotels. Skipped breakfast but dined in on four nights.I was assured that meat and fish were bought in fresh and desserts were made on the premises, as were the delicious cakes on offer in the coffee shop along with a selection of light snacks. Imaginative décor in restaurant and bar areas set it apart from 'chain' hotels.I found the staff efficient and friendly ... but overworked! There was clearly an issue with staff shortages, currently a common problem throughout the hospitality sector.I would not hesitate to stay at The Kings Arms should I return to Berwick.
Lovely hotel but...
The room was lovely, very clean. The hotel was lovely as a whole but your staff were not happy. There were only two bar staff on during our time in the lovely beer garden so it took ages to get served. It wasn't just us who were complaining about that either. We're guests, it's not our fault you are short staffed.I ordered breakfast then decided to cancel it because we wanted to go out for breakfast and kill a bit of time before the train arrived. We had already paid for breakfast and couldn't get a refund because the person who was working the reception desk said it was too much of a task.We were woken up at 7am by a man hosing down the pavements of the hotel with a very noisy machine, which lasted an hour. That was bloody awful.Lovely hotel but not much of a rest I'll give you 5 out of 10.
Very poor
Have just stayed in the hotel! In my opinion this hotel should not be excepting bookingIt it in need of a total refurbishment! The hole hotel is in a very very poor condition!!!
A lovely hotel and our room was wonderful.
Although we loved the hotel it was slightly concerning to see a staff member rushed off her feet serving cocktails and also having to keep an eye on reception too.And then in the morning she was back early and working on reception to which one customer seemed to be taking great delight in complaining about a table booking the night before which clearly was nothing to do with her but she handled it in a professional manner. We found all the staff to be very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Clearly the problems lay with management.
Restaurant let\'s the hotel down
Stay overall good bar staff amazing as were receptionThe disappointment was the restaurant service and cleanliness of the restaurant wasn't goodSunday ordered a main course of the sunday lunch menu wasn't told you couldn't have a one course until the bill came charged for two courses which we paid as we didn't want to cause a fussMenus on paper all marked with food stains good on the floor from breakfast
Lovely clean hotel and friendly staff
Room we stayed in was spotless, very comfortable bed and bathroom was gorgeous, staff very friendly especially the lady at reception, we had breakfast as well and it was so tasty, you could tell they we’re local butcher sausages and lush thick bacon, I couldn’t fault the hotel, thank you for making our stay so enjoyable ????
Fine
Bed was very comfortable, room clean only criticism the temperature control on the shower was faulty.
Stayed at hotel from 2nd to the 8th of July
Injoyed our stay nice staff but hotel needsa lot of of money spent on it it is very rundown roof needs a good few thousand spent on it a lot of rain water getting in third time at the hotel I would stay at another hotel next time cheers Paul
Paul
Overallvery good. Enjoyed my tapas supper, liked my single room (5). Staff excellent from booking in,to check out. Could be improved with moreattention to the finer details. Like no pepper in the cruet, butter, individual portions, placed on top of hot bread roll, who wants liquid butter all over the plate? No finger bowl,to accompany the mussels. Needed extra napkins!!! Melon and parma ham tapas di..sh, served without the menu stated, raspberry dressing. Itsthis attention to the finer details that .make the difference between a 4* and 5* establishment...Loved my 1 night stay, will stay here again
Good
Hotel and staff very nice. Food good and substantial.Only minor points were that TV reception in Room 5 was very poor, making TV watching impossible. Also WiFi in room 5 poor.Neither of these marred my stay
Good place to stay
Rooms clean, well appointed, food excellent, service friendly. Really enjoyed my stay in Berwick at the Kings Arms. Thank you.
Very good
The inside of the hotel was a big surprise. Our bedroom and bathroom were modern and spacious as were the public rooms. Good value for money.
Good hotel
On arrival we had a speedy well organised check in with helpfully staff,The room was spacious and very clean,The hotel has a restaurant, cafe, bar,And is in a good location. Would definitelygo back.
River Tweed
I rode the length of the River Tweed on Saturday and your hotel was exactly what we were looking for.Lovely stay and we enjoyed our stay in Berwick-upon-Tweed.
Enjoyable stay
Enjoyed our 1-night stay. The staff was v friendly and helpful and the room was clean and complete. Breakfast in the morning was lovely; a nice English breakfast that had everything you needed. The town itself is lovely and the Kings Arms a great base to explore it.
Good
Nice comfortable hotelLovely food and cocktails
Excellent visit
Hotel decor excellent; room and en-suite excellent. Food good, breakfast particularly good. All staff extremely friendly and helpful. Had wonderful visit
Dicken\'s Suite is Perfect!
For a meeting, function, community group or similar, this room is absolutely perfect! Tastefully decorated and subtly lit, this room could be used for just about anything! The hotel's coffee shop is literally right next door too, with freshly brewed coffee and tea, a selection of tasty treats, perfect if you are having the likes of a conference. All the staff we dealt with were friendly and professional and ready to help with anything. A well deserved full 5 stars!
Good Experience
Comfortable well run hotel in the centre of a pleasant historic town
Very Comfortable
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and a good nights sleep was enjoyed.Hotel is in a great location.Would definitely stay there again.
great stay easy going staff
Enjoyed my stay friendly staffSee you back on my return .
excellent stay
hotel clean and covid safe, staff excellent would definitely recommend
A quick break
The pub is great and the staff are wonderful, especially Alicia, who very kindly helped me with numerous questions and was so professional and approachable, she is a true asset to the team!!The hotel was adequate but expensive for what you receive. The restaurant is very dated and needs updating, otherwise the hotel is situated in a super central location and near to the railway station.
Not Brilliant
Great welcome when we arrived and had a drink in the courtyard which was really nice. The experience in Saturday evening was very poor. Waited forty five minutes to receive our drinks pre dinner. Sat down at 5:30 in the courtyard and got our drinks at 6:15pm. Two beers, an Aperol Spritz and a Campari and soda. Waitress came back four times to check our order. Then eventually someone more senior came and took our order. He had clearly been drinking himself.Dinner was quite an experience. Alarms going off in the dining room constantly, food was not great. Not sure how one can go wrong with fish and chips but the chef clearly did. Started to notice those diners around us with the same experience. The same waiter who had tried to serve our drinks was now well on his way to being drunk. The service generally was awful on Saturday. The rooms were really lovely and the hotel itself was very nice.In summary - lovely hotel let down badly by service and quality of food. The reception staff were delightful and the breakfast service was good. The breakfast itself - not so good.
Hotel was clean and comfortable with friendly staff.
The hotel, is a little dated, but that comes with a period style property. We was not impressed with the evening meal on the first night, luke warm, and the braised lamp shoulder came out as stripped lamb shoulder made into a terrine! Not expected. The other detail I saw was the chef testing the soup with his own finger to test the heat of it, unacceptable!!
Lovely hotel
Lovely hotel staffvery helpful. Rooms very clean and modern.Only downside was restaurant very poor not up to standard
Perfectly suited to our needs
This booking was for a meeting, held in the hotel's Dicken's Suite. Everything was set perfectly for our needs, and the coffee from the Dicken's Suite Lounge was perfect. Needless to say, our bookings will continue for as long as is needed, and the fact The King's Arms Hotel owner granted free use of this room to charities and community groups is just amazing!
Good stay
?tayed for three nights, very comfortable with all we needed. Huge bathroom with good toiletries. The refreshment tray was a welcome addition. The staff were all so helpful, especially the reception staff. Cocktails were great. Obviously they need more staff but the ones they have work very hard, you just need to be patient! Enjoyed a sunny hour in the walled garden. Hotel has a perfect location.
Great Hosts....
Had a great stay - lovely room and central location to town and river....
Excellent location
Booked the kings arms for one night whilst visiting Berwick. Great location + room lovely, breakfast was spot on ( was extra, but this seems to be the normal during the COVID pandemic!!)
Wonderful stay
Lovely staff, great location and beautiful hotel!
Very warm welcome
Upon arrival paula could not have done anything more for us than she did, she was extremely professional and fantastic with the children, our room was spotless and very comfortable, however breakfast was a shambles, unfortunately due to the length of time it took to deliver food to our table we were all eating at different times, service really needs looking at, however that won’t stop us from staying there again staff are very friendly
Very nice
After a 5hour journey that should have taken 2,we finally arrived.Immediate impression, very impressed. The hotel was very clean and well maintained.Staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definatley be returning
Short break
The King's Arms was ideal for our 2 day stay in Berwick. Lovely room, staff very pleasant and helpful. Parking was a bit of a nightmare. Kept having to move the car.
Very nice - clean, comfortable and welcoming
Rang to book direct, but no discount for that, unlike everywhere else.....Very nice accommodation
A new experience
Made very welcome and given a comfortable room. The hotel has been refurbished and was very fresh. We had dinner in the hotel and the food was excellent. Service was a little “ faulty towers” but oh so willing. Very young restaurant staff and some more investment in training would work wonders. Good location and whilst no hotel parking there is a free car park only 100 meters away . Free parking right outside hotel Sat. and Sun.
Excellent refurbished room
The hotel presents as tired and in need of renovation but the spacious room had been refurbished to a high standard. Everywhere clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Great location and we are happy to have stayed there.
Fine accomodation & Excellent Staff
Thank you for having me on this last night of my visit to Scotland!I managed to get the covid-19 negative test result on time for my flight and arrived safely back in Portugal last night. At least 7 people weren't so lucky, had no test, and were consequently not allowed to board the flight;/ This included an elderly lady, resident in the Algarve and at least 4 Erasmus students that had begun their journey in Prague and didn't know the Covid test was required. Very sad for them all!You have excellent facilities. I enjoyed a pleasant bath!It was a bit difficult for the room to warm up on such a cold night.Edinburgh was covered in snow in the morning..Many thanks,Marcos
Wonderful Experience
Very nice and quiet and good sleeping experience
Excellent
Very welcoming staff who were happy to assist with any request.Very clean rooms and comfortable bed.Excellent value for money.Highly recommended.
A Lovely Warm Welcome.
We arrived on a cold Monday afternoon, to a lovely warm welcome from Roseoon reception. We had stayed before some time ago, but she remembered us which was nice. Our room was large and spotlessly clean and the bed was sooooo comfy! The bathroom was very modern and super clean too. In the evening we had a few drinks in the cosy bar downstairs. The young man behind the bar was very friendly and chatted away to us,and other guests were very respectful of social distancing, so we felt very safe.We had a lovely breakfast, there was a great choice and it was cooked to order, so very fresh and nicely presented. We were sorry to leave! Thank You to all staff for a great stay. Special Thanks to Roseo on reception, she really is a Star!????
very nice
very clean and tidy food was very nice and waiter service really friendly
Good location
Nice hotel in good location for town centre, friendly staff, good breakfast, beautiful bathroom though room was a bit of a worry as very uneven floor and it sloped down so had to be very careful when walking around but this was because of the age of hotel.

We spent a very pleasant time here at The Kings Arms hotel. Hotel is very nice. Clean and safe. Room was clean and comfortable. Daily room service provided. Breakfast great. Plenty of choice. Area was safe to walk around in the evening. We enjoyed our stay. We would be very happy to return in the future ???? Xx
Home away from home
We had 3 nights away at the Kings. The staff were amazing, the food was delicious and the cocktails were to die for.I had 3 amazing nights sleep in a bed you could stretch out on which was extremely comfortable.Only negative was the view from the window. Which cant be helped as it was of the food and the emergency steps. Thanks for the amazing stay.
Brilliant
Staff fantastic
Gorgeous hotel!
Wow,what a gorgeous place to stay. Room was immaculate, bathroom was stunning. Cocktail bar was very inviting and the staff were lovely, so relaxed and accommodating. Would recommend this hotel to all... beautiful location too.... couldn't fault it. Thanks for having us. Would happily return. X x
Pleasant hotel in central location
We enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean and not too small. The staff were all very pleasant and courteous. We didn’t eat there but had drinks in the beer garden which is a lovely space and quite a sun trap.
Location and the staff
We enjoyed a lovely overnight stay at the Kings Arms. The location is perfect for exploring the area and the hotel had everything we needed. The staff from reception to the bar and restaurant were really friendly, welcoming and helpful.I'd certainly recommend a stay here!
Very nice room , very clean tidy, staff very helpful and breakfast was lovely excellent service , definitely will stay they again
Excellent recommend it to anyone lovely hotel staff excellent nothing was to much trouble
MY THOUGHTS
Overall good.
Great Hotel
Room nice, food great, the hotel was nicely decorated with a lovely garden will stay again
Excellent
Berwick-upon-Tweed is a very lovely place for a relaxing g break and the king’s arms is the perfect place to stay.Location is very central. The rooms are very large, very clean. We booked into the restaurant one night and the food was superb with lots of choice. All the staff were very friendly. There isn’t a bad word to be said. It made our stay perfect.
very good
the hotel was very nice, as was the room. breakfast good on second visit but short staffed on first visit.air conditioning units outside bedroom was noisy but as with most hotels this is quite common
Great location
Situated in a great location within walking distance of local amenities. The breakfast was lovely. The lady that served us couldn’t do enough for us. The room was clean but the brown carpet was dirty and stained. Just needs a little TLC
And
Lovely room, tastefully furnished, the lift floyer on floor 2 was a touch of style! A building of character.
Clean and great location
Good HotelCleanGreat LocationFriendly StaffFabulous Breakfast
Superb Stay
I came here as a single female & not once did I feel UncomfortableThe staff were magnificent It was my birthday treat to myself as i haven't seen my family in a year From checking into checking out cannot find fault The room was very comfortableBreakfast/dinner was great & lovely grounds at the back & barI will come back again & many thanks to Rosia & the lady on breakfast sorry I didn't get your name
Wow
Me and a mate booked in for the weekend in the family room which was so spacious it was almost like separate rooms. The staff were lovely especially at breakfast where difficult social distancing needed a calm head. If I came back to Berwick-upon-Tweed I would hope to stay here again they absolutely smashed it.
Great
Nice hotel in great location, fantastic staff. room 1 was lovely and spacious, ground floor at front with huge window, a bit of noise at night but not too bad. Restaurant menu was a bit specialist but we had nice steaks with about a pint of sauce.
One Fine Stay
Had an excellent stay at the Kings Arms Hotel. Staff very obliging and thorough. Well located. Thank you.
Good 3 star hotel but no wifi
4 sept 2020WiFi was off when we arrived and still off 4 days later and beach day they said it was to be repairedCheck before you bookApart from that , nice room , bar area operating and food ok
Good location for golf tour
With very little choice I was grateful that the hotel had three rooms available for the three days we required for a short tour of local golf courses. The staff were very friendly and helpful during these difficult Covid times. The rooms were a good size and comfortable. We only had breakfast on the first day. It was pretty good but they don't serve cappuccino in the morning( in 2020 ).There are some great golf courses within a 30 min drive from Berwick upon Tweed. The town itself could do with a lot of maintenance. We managed to find some reasonable restaurants to eat out.
Very good.
Everything surpassed all my expectations. Very nice hotel very nice room. And very nice staff. Would recommendz
Perfect
Hotel was lovely, clean, spacious and in a great location! We couldn’t believe the size of the room we had! Also, the barmaid/receptionist was lovely and welcoming! Thanks
A beautiful hotel
A lovely hotel the accommodations was spacious clean and well made the staff were both friendly and helpful the food was plenty full and well prepared
Fair
Food always lovely staff always very pleasant room was a bit worse for wear and we were at the front very noisy
Not too bad, could be better.
Helpful and welcoming staff. The place could do with a good clean.Restaurant was freezing cold.Bed uncomfortable, lighting very poor in the bathroom, extractor made a horrible noise, had to turn it off. Both the roast dinner and breakfast were superb.
Comfortable Stay
Hotel was perfectly located within the centre of Berwick. The hotel bar and restaurant was very accommodating. Especially during this pandemic, the hotel were very welcoming and safe.
Very good
The hotel is very well located and very clean and modern; better than I was expecting. There are social distancing measures in place everywhere except for the restaurant where the staff doesn’t wear face masks which seems a contradiction and made us feel very uncomfortable and unsafe. I hope they rectify that soon because it is otherwise an excellent option for a stay.
Safe stay
Just had two nights at the KingsArms in the executive room. Room newly renovated and very comfortable. Refurbishment is on going and will benefit the hotel Greta.y.Staff were all lovely and very helpful. Breakfast very organised and good quality food. All precautions taken to ensure a safe stay .Would return
Excellent ????
Enjoyed our stay very much and food was delicious, would definitely return. We were in room 28 and unfortunately I left ghd straighteners.Phoned yesterday morning and was advised someone would phone back regarding returning them but didn't get a call. Please advise, Regards Agnes Forsyth.

Room needs Attention loos tiling in the bathroomvery poor lighting aroundthe shower dust behind the tv some lights were out
went for cocktail and it was 2for ten pounds didn't go back for the next one as it was very poor it seems like the staff need some training Breakfast the staff kept getting our order worrge the need front of house person to keep them right a lot of dust around the building garden is beautiful again needs some attention theses things may sound trivle to you but they mean another to the paying customer!!!!!I'm sorry but we won't be back.....
Lovely friendly hotel
My partner had a lovely, relaxing 2 night stay. Our room was huge with a lovely bathroom and extremely comfortable bed. The staff were very friendly and breakfast was good. There is a lovely walled garden at the back of the hotel and the location is excellent
What it was like
Room was lovely
A bit costly but a good stay
A little costly but had a great time comfortable beds and the staff were excellent and very helpful all in all very good Yours Colin Ellis
It was very good.
It was very good. We had a lovely big room and the cooked breakfast was very good. The shower/bath was a bit disappointing as the shower was a trickle and it was impossible to have a hot bath.
Comfortable and clean
We stayed here just for one night as a very last minute get-away. The room we had was clean, bathroom immaculate and bed lovely and comfy. This was the first time we had been overnight anywhere since pre-Covid. Facilities are quite basic but this was fine for the last minute price we paid. The only grumble I had was the WiFi is very hit and miss on the top floor and there was only one bath and hand towel but it was dealt with promptly by the manager when we asked for one towel per person.Breakfast was ok, cheese omelette was lovely, no choice of fresh fruit or cereal though but this is possibly due to Covid restrictions.Covid-19 safety measures are in place, with sanitisers at the entrance and we loved the gorgeous walled garden at the back which has ample seating with excellent social distance measures between each table - we felt totally safe at the Kings Arms. We popped across the road to Foxtons for a early doors meal and decided to come back and sit out in the garden again. For those who are sensitive to noise, be aware that Kings Arms is located on one of the main areas of Berwick with other establishments immediately around it and you do hear street noise, especially on a Saturday night but this is to be expected in the middle of a town and it really was no problem.
Kings Arms Hotel
Whilst our stay was most enjoyable and the staff most accommodating and welcoming, attention to a few maintenance items would give a better first impression. These would include replacing or repairing the skylight that was leaking into containers on the stair leading to the bedrooms. It was a pity that the mirror light in the bedroom was not working properly and that only one of the bedside lights could be switched on (a blown bulb possibly).Overall, we would be happy to stay again.
Lovely stay
Great location, some helpful staff. Room was very tidy and bed comfy, bathroom was huge! Would be good to have a mini fridge in the room, there is definitely space for one. Fab location for walking down to the waterfront and easy to find. Slightly expensive for a single room but I did stay in July.
Lovely hotel
great staff, all friendly and helpful. Wonderful beer garden
Lovely hotel
Lovely hotel, great location, great breakfast, friendly staff and nice rooms.Bar and dining room a little dated but all fine.
Amazing
Extreamly enjoyed our stay at the kings arms hotel! Staff were very friendly and helpful and made us feel at home! Rooms were very clean and relaxing! Enjoyed the walled garden for wine and food! 100% recommend will be back!
Totally unexpected
stayed one night at this hotel which was a pleasant surprise. The entrance area, room, walled garden, staff, restaurant and bar area qere all great. A modern look throughout and good value for money.
Friendly and comfortable
Our visit was very enjoyable with excellent breakfast and friendly and helpful staff, we had a spacious room for my husband who is disabled. We were able to meet our daughter in the beer garden as she has a dog and was made welcome.
Kings arms hotel
had a lovelyweekend room wasverycomfortable the girls on reception were very friendly @helpful had a lovelycooked breakfast hope to stay againthankyou
Lovely room
Lovely hotel just a pity about the seagulls
Thoroughly Recommend.
Really enjoyed my 3 night stay here. Excellent staff and the central location was ideal. Restaurant was wonderful, small intimate menu and expertly cooked. Not pricey at all for food or drinks in the well stocked bar. Would thoroughly recommend and hope to come back again.
Good, really good.
My overall view of my stay is a positive one ; clean room , efficient booking, all very pleasant. If I had any negative opinion, it would be about the exterior of the hotel. The black steps need re-painting and the exterior generally could do with tidying-up. However, I appreciate we are in in difficult times , so those works may have to wait!
Fantastic
Staff where amazing. Very helpful. Great service. Clean room. 100% would go again
Post lockdown overnight stay.
Just returned from an over night stay with my girlfriend. Made to feel very welcome by all members of staff and all safety hygiene measures were followed by staff and guests. Had a great tapas lunch when arrived in the hotel restaurant & later in the evening enjoyed drinks in the cocktail bar which was open later for guests. Would recommend and would stay again !
Lovely -all round
Great location for shops ,restaurants etc.Staff very helpful. Food first class. Only one thing I would say ; our room was above main street and very noisy early morning and evening. Would definitely come again but have a different room.
Clean and Comfortable
Just returned from a two night stay at this lovely hotel situated in the centre of Berwick. The room was clean and warm; it had been modernised but still retained its charm and character with an uneven bowed floor. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was superb with high quality ingredients. We had an evening meal which was very nice too. Communal areas are very homely and comfortable. Cocktails were amazing. If I had one criticism it would be the mattress which had seen better days but a minor issue for a short stay. The hotel does not have any private parking however short stay is free with a council parking disc and there is a long stay free car park a short walk from the hotel.
Great Hotel
We really enjoyed our stay, food was very good, friendly staff. Well recommended.
Relaxing stay
Myself and my partner had a lovely relaxing overnight stay in room 1. Great room, spacious, modern and comfortable, coffee machine and plenty of sachets of tea coffee biscuits. Nice dinner and very good breakfast. Nice selection of cereal. Yoghurt Danish pastry and cooked breakfast.Value for money and pleasant staff.I will book again soon.
Lovely.
The hotel was very nice and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you.
Was very nice
Will be a beautiful hotel when all renovations complete
Good!
My friend and l enjoyed an overnight stay. The room was lovely and the staff friendly and helpful. Our dinner and breakfast was very good with a varied selection on the menu.Would definitely recommend The Kings Arms to friends and family.
Great hotel
We stayed 2 nights at this hotel and had a great time it was very welcoming the staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable Struggled with the shower only because didn't read instructions which were very clear so tha was my fault. Evening meal was lovely and it was served hot and no buffet service which is excellent as I don't like eating food that has been slipped around by other guests.Breakfast again was served to you full english is what we had and again it was served hot. I would reccomend this hotel as it was 10/10 for us
Overnight stay
Hotel lovely, staff friendly and very helpful. However,we stayed on a Saturday night and the noise coming from street outside was REALLY LOUD PEOPLE SHOUTING... AND WENT ON UNTIL 2.00AM AND AFTER..
Weekend Break
The hotel is clean and welcoming. The staff are extremely helpful and very pleasant. Food was good and more than adequate helpings - and VERY reasonably priced. Decor of the hotel is 'quirky' but overall it was a super stop over.
Lovely friendly clean hotel
Lovely friendly clean hotel
Nice room
Nice big room easy access to the maltings where we wanted to be.dissapointed with the breakfast T would of been nice in T pot and toast brought after cereals
Quaint trip
The staff are so friendly and helpful that is the first thing you notice and it applies to all areas in the hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable. With it being a listed building there are aspects that are older but the bathroom was really up to date.Food was good, breakfast especially. Bar was charming with good range of cocktails on offer.
very good
hotel well situated for town walls and water front.staff helpful and cheerful.rooms clean with all that was required for our stay.food good but would have liked a change of menu daily.would recomend the hotel.
Nice two night break
Our 2nd visit, nice central hotel, good food. Quality breakfast items. Clean throughout. Nice friendly efficient staff made our stay a pleasure. Thank you all.
Exceeded All Expectations
A comfortable, very clean updated and well maintained hotel in the centre of Berwick upon Tweed; with friendly and efficient staff who really go the extra mile to ensure customers satisfaction. Particularly Alex the Night Porter and Jack of all Trades and Master of All, and a true Gentleman. We were on a special deal that included Dinner and Cocktails on the first night which were so good that we booked Dinner the next night and my wife had another Cocktail. We had the Seabass on the first night which was the Best I have had any establishment. While the Haddock on the Second night was wonderful and very filling, which was a shame as I did want to try the Sticky Toffee Pudding but had no room. Whoever supplies them with fish is simply the best.Would we go back ? Definitely. It should be noted I worked for over 30 years in the Hospitality Industry and would have been proud to have staff as good as those at the Kings Arms Hotel. You could find minor decorative damage in the Bedrooms if you want to nick pick!
Excellent 1 night stay B&B with Evening Meal
Thanks to all the staff at the Kings Arms.My wife and I really enjoyed our stay and found the staff friendly and the food was lovely. We will stay again if the chance arises - Especially Room 2
great
Kind staff, nice room and good food in a picturesque town - what more do you want?
nicely decorated
we enjoyed our stay at the Kings Arms, staff are helpful and friendly. The only down side was the heat in the bedroom, we couldn't put heating off so we put it on minimum and opened the window which meant we had noise from the bar at the back of the hotel as it was Saturday night.
Very good
Excellent stay at kings arms hotel really lovely food and the staff are very friendly and cannot do enough to make your stay enjoyable many thanks would definitely recommend and stay again
Perfect mini break
Delighted with the hotel which exceeded our expectations.Friendly helpful staff, warm clean comfortable room and great food.Great location .Very bike friendlyWell stocked drinks tray in room. Staff could not have been more helpful or pleasant. Would love to return
Friendly staff
Friendly staff , food and cocktails where lovely.Need a lick of paint and think they could do with some new mattresses but still well worth the wowcher price we payed.
Fabulous place
We had a fantastic stay lovely hotel staff were fantastic would stay here again no problem it was amazing thanks to all the staff
Relaxing Break
Thank you for a very relaxing, comfortable break! The room was very clean and comfortable and the cocktails were a bit of fun!Dinner and breakfast were both excellent and couldn't be faulted.Friendly and accommodating staff.
Good Value
Very central and pleasant accommodation. Rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable. Food was ok, and the staff were excellent. Have no complaints about our stay and would definitely recommend. We will be back.
Beautiful hotel
We had a lovely relaxing stay on Saturday evening. The hotel is beautiful and steeped with historical interesting facts. The staff are all so professional and helpful. We will certainly be staying again. Many thanks Janet and Norman Nugent
Loved it!
I have just returned with my husband where we spent the weekend at this hotel and I honestly cannot rate it high enough!Everything about this place is excellent. The staff are friendly, food is fresh, hot and delicious.Rooms were spotless as was the rest of the hotel. The Dickens Tea Room is a lovely, quirky little place to enjoy tea and scones in comfort. The cocktails were amazing and it was so relaxing to sit and enjoy these in the cocktail lounge. The entrance into the restaurant and the dining area itself was beautiful and made you feel like you were dining somewhere in the Mediterranean! I absolutely loved the decor in the Hotel, a lot of thought has been put into this and I particularly loved all the little extras that were added which made each area different and added a little "quirkiness" ... absolutely loved it! We will no doubt be back for a visit and would most definitely recommend!Thank you for a wonderful stay! ????
Lovely staff are very pleasant and helpful
Lovely stay room was clean andthe bed was very comfortable.Breakfast was spot on hot and tastyUnfortunately the evening meal was over cooked and i left most of the mealBut overall a good stay would definitely stay again.

This was another great experience. The staff are always super friendly and even when we had broken down early on in the day of arrival, they put us at ease. Alex and co made us feel really welcome and the food was delicious. Rooms were great too. Will be back.
Great value for money
We got a wowcher deal which made this an exceptional offer. The hotel was really nice & the staff were brilliant - so pleasant & helpful. We paid for upgrade to larger room which was really nice (althoughtouch up of floor stain much needed)Our food was excellent, breakfast choices were great & service first class.Wld def go back especially if offer still on.
Absolutely Fabulous, did not want to leave
Hi, me and my 11 year old son stayed at the kings arms Hotel. For 2 nights last weekend. And I must say we were not disappointed. The family room was so spacious, very clean and my son loved the bath. :) the hotel has such a lovely atmosphere, staff so friendly. We had our meal each night in the restaurant, food is really good. Now, the cocktail bar is so quirky, I could of spent all night in there but I had my son. Lol. The barman made my son a moctail for his birthday. I can't thank the kings arms hotel enough..we really needed a chilled break to get away from day to day life and that is exactly what we got. 110% recommend this hotel.
We had a lovely stay your hotel was beautiful and breakfast was delicious
Would highly recommend this hotel to friends and family
Excellent
Stayed here a couple of times now. We really enjoyed the hotel. Room excellent, very modern and to a good standard. Super comfy bed! Enjoyed the food too. The bar is excellent and we enjoyed the cocktails! Will definitely stay again. Thanks.
Comfortable Break
A traditional town centre hotel which was very comfortable with friendly staff, we ate an evening meal and breakfast both of which we enjoyed very much. Lots of tea and coffee available in our room, the walk in shower was powerful and hot, we both felt refreshed after our break.. Very pleasent cocktail bar and coffee lounge
Lovely Place With Lovely Staff
Took my fiancée there as a stop off before a spa trip to Scotland as a surprise birthday treat, the staff helped me distract my fiancee, then helped me decorate the room. Oh and they gave us a complimentary upgrade to a huge room, which I think was the King's Deluxe. The breakfast was also lovely with pleasant staff serving. The staff really try hard to take care of customers and we will definitely be staying again the next time we are up in Berwick! Thank you loads!
Great stay
Had a lovely stay at the Kings Arms Hotel, all staff were very helpful and friendly Dinner and breakfast both lovely, good choice and plentiful. Bar area was comfortable and drinks very reasonable. Room was great, comfortable bed and very clean, shower could gave been better though. Over all excellent stay and would definately return. Good location within the town.
Lovely weekend
Very nice hotel, comfortable bed, room was nice and warm, large fluffy towels.Beautiful food and all the staff were very nice. Overall a very nice hotel.
Another pleasant stay
This was our second stay at this hotel. Although the building is very old our room was lovely. Very clean and warm.We ate at the hotel both nights of our stay and the food was good although not a big menu to choose from. The staff are so good. Very friendly and nothing is a problem for them. The hotel has a nice atmosphere because of this.
Highly Recommend
I stayed at the Kings Arms Hotel from 3 to 6 February this year. On discovering the radiator in my room wasn't working Shannon, one of the receptionists, apologised profusely, moved me to another room and gave me an upgrade - a fabulous double room!Breakfast was delicious with a choice of fresh fruit, cereal and/or a cooked breakfast. The staff were courteous, professional and friendly. Thoroughly recommend.
Very welcoming atmosphere
Had a fab weekend with family staying here, very reasonable prices, food was delicious and staff very friendly. Situated in just the right place for bars restaurants and loads of shops, would definitely stay here again x

Great hotel
I got me and my wife an overnight before going back to work after the new year and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the Wowcher deal which included a 2 course meal, cocktail and breakfast and I can defo say it was worth every penny. Food was lovely and the Kocktail Klub is a nice little bar with a great range of drinks and really cheap compared to other places ive stayed. Hotel has everything so would defo recommend.

Always like staying in Berwick and Kings Arms is perfect location.Comfortable beds and welcoming staff.Easy parking. Close to the Maltings for entertainment.Perfect
Recent Stay
Overall I found my stay to be pleasant. The staff were friendly and the hotel was clean and welcoming. My room was comfortable and, very importantly, clean. On the plus side - friendly staff, welcoming, clean rooms, good central locationLittle niggles - The wifi coverage did not extend to my room so doing any work in my room was impossible. In fact the only spot I could find wifi was in the reception area.My breakfast was very bland. Very cheap sliced bread which was topped by tasteless scrambled egg
Kings Arms Hotel Catering
The catering for our private function was very good, the food was of a high quality and to our own specifications, the staff sought out the guests who had specified particular dietry requirments and pointed out their particular food. We were at liberty to personalise the room and play our own music. All very profesional, would highly recomend.Richard
My pleasant stay at Kings Ams Hotel
I had a very comfortable stay. The staff were very professional and curious. The food was excellent.I was also pleased with my accommodation.I would.recommend your to my friends or family to stay at your establishment.

Hotel was very clean and staffs were very friendly. Breakfast was also of very good standard and ladies working there were really nice.Very pleasant stay.
Greatest staff ever!
Had a couple of nights at the hotel, and have to give kudos to all the staff. Really helpful and friendly. Drunk far to much Gin in the bar, with my elderly Father, who doesn’t give praise easily , but he again , this cannot be our only stay!! Thanks for making our mini break more special.

Trip to Kings Arms
A clean, pleasant place to stay. Ideally located in the lovely town centre. The receptionist was first class - helpful, informative and polite. A good place to stay.
Great location within Berwick upon Tweed
Great hospitality for an overnight stay in the gem that is Berwick upon Tweed.Friendly welcome and a warm ambiance inboth the coffee bar and lounge bar. Warm and quiet room.
Vicki Wilkinson
The hotel is well situated. It is very central but not in too close a proximity that it is noisy on an evening. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay in this hotel again. Our only criticism would be that it needs a shower caddy as you have to put your shower gel on the floor. That however is a very easy fix.
Fantastic
Great hotel, ideal location and lovely staff.
Good Hotel
I arrived late at night on spec, looking for a room. I managed to get the last room available. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The hotel itself was lovley. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was clean and tidy. In the morning, I had the full English breakfast which was delicious. The only negative comment I could make is that the bacon and sausages weren't of the best quality. I'd expect butchers quality meat in any establishment. One star lost for that. Apart from that I couldn't fault it.
Our stay
Big thanh you to the kings hotel for a lovely stay and going that extra mile to help us as we left clothes in our room,Thanks for sending them on to us.we will come again
Great place, lovely staff!
Stayed one night whilst working in the area, the staff were really friendly, especially the lady who checked me in and served on the bar.Clean place and amazing full English Breakfast!!

Good Hotel - Well Located
The Kings arms is located near to the centre of town and is well located for all amenities. The hotel is clean, comfortable and staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are great and there's a lot of it on the plate. The only downside is the lack of parking which is an issue across the entire town, but you can get around this.
Mrs Christine Faulkner
Very obliging and helpful staff. Room clean and tidy and comfortable bed. Hotel ideally situated in town centre.
Lovely staff
Staff could be more helpfull and pleasant

Enjoyed two comfortable nights at The Kings Arms for a nice short break in this lovely historic town. Good central location, in a historic building which makes a change from new chain hotels. Plenty to do and see in Berwick. We'll be back!
Lovely staff and exceptionally clean hotel
The location was perfect with parking available nearby. Exceptionally clean and very comfortable rooms. Hotel seems recently refurbished to a high standard. Great facilities such as coffee shop, restaurant and separate bar. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Our stay at The King\'s Arms
Spacious, comfortable 'Dickens' room with good facilities.Couldn't alter the cubicle shower water temperature (was it me?).However, there was a second option, the over bath shower.Ok for able people. Not a complaint,an observation!
Welcoming and comfortable
Lovely large room in a good position in the town, surrounded by a great choice of restaurants.Staff friendly and helpful. I have only given 4 stars as the continental breakfast was a little disappointing as the choice was somewhat limited. This did not detract from an enjoyable stay. I would not hesitate to return.
Berwick
I would like to say had a amazing Time in the kings arms hotel from the staff to the room couldn’t anything wrong at all
One night stop
A lovely old hotel which has recently modernised. Our room, no 4, had a contemporary style and huge en suite. However, the dark chocolate brown tiles gave the bathroom a dark feel not helped bypoor lighting. All was lovely and clean with lovely soft white towels. Tea and coffee facilities and an iron an ironing board all helped to make a comfortable stay. Bed, sheets and pillows excellent in providing a lovely nights sleep.
Convenient right in the heart of town
Very old building. Looked as it it had a recent bit of a spruce up. Welcoming staff on reception. Lift available Room at the front on the second floor. Very spacious with large bathroom. Clean. Comfortable bed. Unless I was doing something wrong I couldn’t open the room window which I always prefer. Stayed the Saturday night so there is noise later on from the crowd frequenting the local hostelries. Am sure they have quiet rooms at the rear of the hotel. Bar stays open until 1.30 amBreakfast was good. Freshly cooked with staff service so no hot buffet. A plus
Lovely decor wonderful staff
Thank you we had a lovely stay the staff could not have been more helpful,, my partner had had a serious fall the previous week and the receptionist even offered for someone to take our bags to the room, and also breakfast in room if we wished.. The room was lovely bathroom wonderful bed a dream.. Room a little hot but not overbearing with the fan provided.. So thank you for making my partners 50th birthday surprise a very pleasent one..

Good hotel in the centre of Berwick
Great location; nicely decorated and sizeable bedroom with good shower.Great walled beer garden - large and attractively laid out flower borders. Good beer and wine.
Great hotel
Had a great stay rooms very clean can't find fault. I bookeddinner in the restaurant for myself and 10 friends the food was great and the staff was excellent.have booked 2 rooms for next year. My friends and I will be having dinner again for our 2 nights stay thanks
A great stay
This was a last minute booking and we were very pleased with the choice we made. We had a large comfortable room with a roomy bathroom. Although there is no car park we found it was easy to park outside for a short stay and a free council car park was a short step away down the road. Its central location made it easy to walk to the towns places of interest, which are many.Very pleasant staff both in the hotel and attached restaurant made it a n enjoyable stay. I would certainly stay there again.
Very comfy
Room 27 recently refurbished. Very clean nice room.Bed was comfy and we had all the amenities we needed. Everyone from the receptionist to waitresses and bar staff were friendly and helpful. Central location close for everything. Really enjoyed our stay and have booked to stay again.
My stay

Friendly and Professional
Great location and a very warm welcome at the Kings Arms Hotel. Excellent food and drinks with good offers for residents. Booking direct, check in & check out was smooth and nothing too much trouble, thank you!Friendly and Professional
Bit overpriced
Hotel rooms were clean, staff were friendly but felt it was overpriced as breakfast wasnt included, also bed wasnt comfortable and bathroom was spotless and modern but neede a vit more light
A pleasant surprise
Very well renovated Hotel. In the Centre of the Old City steps from the Wharf and Fantastic Ramparts and City Walls. The people in the Hotel and City are so friendly. Tourist Info was hard to find outside the Hotel , ask at the Desk.
Excellent stay
We stayed here for three days for my wife's birthday and would most certainly return to the hotel. Staff were superb, friendly and very helpful. Our room was large and well furnished with ample toiletries, towels and teas and coffee etc. Room well cleaned and made up each day. Great cocktail bar and comfortable lounge areas.
short stay in Berwick on Tweed
We had a very pleasant and comfortable stay at the hotel. We would like to say a special thankyou to the hotel manageress who was extremely helpful when we decided to change our room and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay
Nice hotel in centre of town
Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel....lovely decor, friendly staff and great food. There is a cooking odour in restaurant due to open plan kitchen.Bonus was the the garden but unfortunately no car park. However there was a free 24 hour car park 200 metres away.
Great
An easy 15 minute walk from the railway station, a friendly welcome at a hotel in the main street, so convenient for everything. Comfortable room with modern bathroom. Breakfast prepared to order and served on a hot plate. Only small observation is that whilst tea in a flask remains hot it tasted "stewed" if it's been standing awhile. Individual teapots would solve thisWalk round the town walls full of interest, bus ride to Spittal and walk back delightful
2 day stay
The Room was clean and tidy - as expected of a 4 star rating. Priced reasonable- Staff very helpful.Breakfast very good and dinner - although pub quality was very good.We enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend to friends.
Excellent
I couldn't have been more surprised with the wonderful accommodations in an old hotel. Immaculate, up to date room and full bath.
Lads Road Trip
Absolutely fab place to stay. Unique and quirky hotel with oodles of character. Room was lovely and looked newly refurbished. Bar and lounge areas were great areas and could be used throughout the day. Staff were very friendly and most helpful especially when it came to parking!! Breakfast was superb value at pretty much all you could eat from a wide selection of foods for less than £10.Hopefully will stay here again.
3 night stay
Very nice hotel, friendly staff and lovely room. The shower in our room had no power and therefore was very weak.Beds very comfortable and clean, towels lovely
Reasonable charge for the room
A good sized room. Breakfast included in the price and of a very good standard. The ingredients were very top notch. Parts of the hotel are undergoing some renovation. We had a great stay. The only criticism is that the doors are spring loaded and will slam if not closed under pressure. Our inconsiderate neighbours in Room 26 allowed the doors to slam all morning 0600 onwards. It might be worth putting some dampening devices on the doors so that they close more softly. But a nice room overall.Friendly staff, chatty and welcoming.
Touring Scotland & Northumberland
Perfectly refurbished old inn.
Well renovated hotel in good location
This is an old hotel in the centre of Berwick which has been renovated and upgraded to a very high standard. The room was large and comfortable and the bathroom was fantastic. The dining room and bar were above the average. The staff were friendly, helpful and competent. Altogether a very pleasant stay.
Excellent stay
Had 3 nights found staff very friendly, dining and drinking were both pleasent with good choice in both the restaurant and bar..Location good we arrived by train and walked taking about 15 mins. Can be at the riverside in less than 5 mins from hotel, enjoyed our stay.
Stay 15th June
Room 24 The room was excellent and so was the breakfast. There was no hairdryer in the room and there was not a mirror with a socket close to it for my wife to put on her makeup.

Hotel review
The Kings Arms Hotel in Berwick was a superb place to stay. Due to illness we couldn't stay on the date selected. I contacted the hotel & they honoured my later booking, which is very rare these days, it was hassle free.On arrival we had a lovely greeting, the staff were all polite and very helpful at all times. Our room was immaculate & even though we slept at the front of the hotel, we had no traffic noise & both slept well. The restaurant bar & coffee lounge were all tastefully decorated & cosy, so much so we stayed in the bar all evening. The food was delicious no complaints at all.We would defiantly return.
Very comfortable...need better pillows
We were visiting family in town and the Kings Arms was convenient. But we were DELIGHTED by the big spacious room, the wonderful modern en suite. The staff could not have been friendlier, allowing us to check in early after our transatlantic flight. When the only complaint you have is, "the bed pillows were not very nice"you know it was a good stay!
Great stay
Stayed for one night here at the Kings Arms and this place cannot be faulted. Great location, clean rooms and lovely bathroom. Would definitely recommend and stay again
Short trip - nice place
Very nice hotel - lovely room and staff were nice. Recommended :)Visit Limoncello next door for food
Chill time
This hotel was booked as a last minute trip. The staff are very helpful and always smiling. The room was outstanding very comfortable and large plenty of room to chill out. The breakfast was very good. I would recommend this hotel to all my friends and family, only thing i would say is to include breakfast in the price.

Kings Arms Hotel
Great stay lovely room friendly staff good exelent will defiantly return soon .
an enjoyable day in Berwick upon Tweed
We had an excellent stay
Lovely stay
I had a lovely stay at the Kings Arms.I stayed in the small single bed room, but the room was really big, the bed was large and there was a bath tub and shower in the bathroom. The bed was so comfortable. The ladies in the reception were so helpful and looked after my bag before check in and after I checked out.The cleaner was so nice! There was so many tea bags and milk left in my room and I loved the biscuits.Internet didn’t work properly in my room, but that didn’t bother me, as there was a tv.I had a nice view of the courtyard from my bedroom.
